Belli Challenge #2 - Rub Ons or Dry Embossing

Belli Challenge = Embellishments

This week we will pull out our Rub Ons. These are new to Stampin' Up! but not new to the market. I myself have a large box FULL of them. I use them often while I scrapbook! I LOVE them. If you do not have them, do not be dismayed! Pull out some Vellum and do some embossing or Dry Embossing on it! Splitcoast Stampers does have some tutorials on this subject if you do not know how. You can do 3-d items or a card or a scrapbook page with the Rub Ons!

Thank you all for participating last week in the Belli Challenge. What fun! All week, I kept my beads out on my desk with my Red Sticky Tape. I used them a few times and when I didn't use them, I thought about them. LOL

We did the drawing for last weeks challenge and the winner of the STICKY LETTERS is Joan Ervin from Temple, TX. Here is a link to her gorgeous card! Check it out! Congratulations, Joan!

Rub Ons are so quick and easy to use. I made several samples and will share them today. They come with a orange wood craft stick or I prefer to use my Bone Folder to rub them on.
As I look at my cards - I can see things I can do to add to them - but this one is Quick and Simple!
Rub Ons: Anchored
Stamp Sets: Classic backgrounds
Cardstock and Markers: Yoyo Yellow, Real Red, Glorious green, Brilliant Blue, Whisper White, Prints Pack DP
Accessories: Paper Snips, Scallop Punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, Bone Folder
Be sure to post a link to your card mentioning my Blog and the Challenge for a chance to win a pack of Build a Flower Accents and Elements on page 177 of the Stampin' Up! Catalog. When you post to Splitcoaststampers, be sure and put CBC2 as the KEYWORD and mention of the challenge! Then make a comment under this with a link to your card and a number so we can do a Random drawing for the winner.
For more inspiration - Check out these
I will post more in awhile. Have a fabulous day!

Chrissy's Wednesday Belli Challenge #1

Belli Challenge, you wonder? Holly came up with it actually - short for embellishments. LOL

I decided today that I LOVE challenges and I have a TON of embellishments, but get stuck in ruts and tend to use the same thing all the time - So talking with some of my girlfriends- we decided that we need a Embellishment and/ or technique challenge!

So this is the FIRST challenge - Use Your BEADS! Anywhere on a card or 3-D project! Micro Beads or colored beads.... You will probably need your Red Sticky Tape!

If you are like me, you have them and they lay there - you over look them because it is just not the first thing you think about picking up when going to grab your embellishments. Right?
If you do this challenge - post a reply here with the LINK to your card and a mention of this blog in your notes. I would LOVE to see your art work! I will use a random drawing and the person whose name was drawn will recieve a FREE pack of Stampin' Up! Sticky Letters from me! Deadline to make a comment and do the Challenge will be on Monday evening. A random drawing will be held on Wednesday and the winner will be announced on Wednesdays!

Here are the ingredients for my card:

Stamp Sets: Print Bg, Friendship Blooms, Celebrate Everything! Classic backgrounds,

Cardstock:Whisper White, Ballet blue, Real Red

Ink: Ballet Blue CRAFT ink, Ballet blue classic ink, Real Red

Accessories: BEADS! Red Duo Beads, Sticky Letters (LOVE THESE!), On board Blossoms & Basics chipboard, 1/4" circle punch, Dimensionals, Red striped ribbon, Bold Bright Brads, Tabs punch, Corner punch, Paper Piercing template & tool, mini glue dots -

If you upload your card to SCS make sure you put BC1 in the subject line so we can find it easily.

Thank you for looking! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!
Here are some more cards to check out for inspiration:
Meet the Belli Design Team
Have fun stamping!

QUILT CARD

Here is a quilt card I was challenged to do from my Mom!!! I was talking with her today and she said, Is that Quilt card from Debby M's blog hard to do? I said, Don't know, haven't made one yet -

So I came home and looked at Debby's BLOG, got the directions and proceeded to make this. The directions are from her blog I did not use any back ground stamps - but for more ideas check out her blog and Holly's.

This card was FUN and fast. I completed it in about a half an hour. The hardest part was picking which Designer Paper to use. LOL Then I asked my friend Danita when it was all said and done - Should I add some stitching? Because my motto is you always need to ADD one more thing! ROFL

Well Enjoy! The ingredients for the card are listed below the directions.

Supplies Needed:
Designer Paper - Card stock
Ink if you want to stamp a background
Any Little background stamp to match designer paper or image -
1 1/4 punch
Cut 3 squares at 1 6/8, Cut two of them on the diagonal.
Punch 4 1 1/4 squares
Designer Paper Punch out 6 squares and cut all on the diagonal.
Cut solid card or base at 5x10 fold in half and get the 5x5 card

Stamp your card stock with background stamp if you are not using DP.
Start in top corner of 5x5 card with a square, next a designer paper triangle, a triangle, designer paper triangle, and another square.
From here on out follow sample.
This one is real easy to make and turns out so pretty.

Cardstock: Ruby Red, Ginger Blossom DO, River Rock, Chocolate Chip cs, Whisper White
Ink: Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Dimensionals, Paper trimmer, River ROck DS ribbon,
Stamp Sets: All in A Row, Lots of Thoughts

The stitching that is on the card I eye balled and drew in with a marker.

DO -OVER DEERS -

Have you ever made a card and said I can do that better? Or you didn't like how it turned out?
Well, in another post for one of Beate's Sketch challenges, I did a card and decided I didn't like exactly what I did, so I changed it up.
Click here to see the original card. I changed the Dew Drops to Brads and the jumbo eyelets. The cardstock tore when I removed the Dew Drops - so I used the 1/4" circle punch and black cardstock to cover the torn area.
Thank you for looking! Have a great day!

For the Love of all things Chocolate!

Here are two candy bar wrappers I decorated with cardstock and paper. The larger one with just the hat & face is for a jumbo chocolate bar. For the teenagers in our family Christmas gifts - they wanted cold, hard cash! So this year instead of a card with the money in it I decorated up their favorite chocolate bar in tucked the money on the inside of the scarf. I do not think the appreciated the work that went into it. LOL Some day they will get it. ***giggle***
So for candy bar one - this is a regular hershey bar. I used Cold Play, Brocade blue, Purely Pomegranite, basic Black, Chocolate Chip and Only Orange ink. The punches used were corner rounders and the word window for the graham crackers...
Candy Bar two - I used the Soft Sky DP, Whisper White, basic Black, and Only orange. I also used the Scallop punch, half inch circle and scissors.
I got the idea from my friend Debbie A. for the jumbo candy bar. She was making these in December and I cased her. If I remember correctly, she was casing someone else, but couldn't remember who. Thank you for the inspiration Debbie and who ever inspired her! :)
Enjoy!

Office Accoutrement- The EYES have it

You know what? I do not remember when the last time I used eyelets is - well, the small ones anyways...
This challenge was to use eyelets- anywhere, anyhow - so this was what I did...I pulled out my OLD stash of eyelets and used them.
This was a card that has been in my head for awhile...I have lots of them, they float around in there -I did stamp the All in a Row crooked, only because I completed the card and then realized it needed something else and I decided it was the stitching. LOL
Here are the supplies I used, all SU:
Stamp Sets: Office Accoutrement, Take a Number Wheel, Define Your Life, All In a Row
Ink Pads & Cardstock: So Saffron, Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Accessories: Tab punch, 1 1/4 & 1 3/8 circle punch, 1/8 punch, gold eyelets, Tool Kit, Dimensionals
I am beginning to think that All in a Row isn't a stamp set but an EMBELLISHMENT! LOL
Thank you for looking!

I went over to my friend Debbie's house last night - and have you ever seen something and think - nah don't need that? Then go to a gf's house and use HERS and then you gotta HAVE IT!? Well, I felt that way about the My Favorite Things images and COPIC Markers- so now I am excited to pay my bills and see how much money I have left over to go SHOPPING!!!! LOL I have to pace myself with my stamp supplies .....

Now I have inner battle going on in my mind - thinking - do I need the Copic markers? They do run smooth and the colors are so VIBRANT! But I have a hundred other coloring methods.... Any body know of an inexpensive place to get them? I will have to do some research. I know ya'll are laughing...Inexpensive? I do not think that is a word that will define Copic Markers. ***giggle***

WSC 31 - A Light Unto My Path

Beate posted her challenge again - to see her website for more inspiration click HERE...
This is what I used to create my card:
Stamp Sets: Old World map (SU retired), A Light Unto my Path
Cardstock: Night of navy, Whisper White, Brocade Blue
Ink: Same as above & Creamy Caramel, Soft Sky, Garden green, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard
Accessories: Distresser, Pewter Jumbo Brads, Cropodile, Dimensionals, Aquapainter, Jumbo Rough Edges Wheel, Sponges.
I crumpled the cardstock after I stamped Old World Map on it, then sponged the edges to make it look aged. I am thinking of maybe sponging a bit more on the white so it doesn't seem to stark and bright against the rest of the card - what do you think?

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge- WSC30

I got my box of new catty supplies and stamps today! YIPPEE! So I ripped it open and cut all my stamps and prepared them for INK! After dinner, I sat down to stamp and lo and behold, my quiet, loving husband wants to talk. HUH!? He never wants to talk! LOL This dear man, God gifted only 500 words a day too, usually uses them up by the time he comes home had words to SPARE this evening. Oh my. So I sat with him and I tried to look patient while he...I mean we talked. :) What is funny, is normally I am DYING to have someone to talk too, but tonight when I wanted to stamp - he wanted to talk. Or maybe it was because when he came home from work tonight he saw the man in brown had come and I was busy cutting....hmmm - conspiracy? lol
Well, when he was done, I mean we were done talking - I came to my room to fixate on my obsession - stamping! :) I went to Beate's blog and checked out her Sketch Challenge and immediately had a vision of the stamps and supplies to use.

Here are the supplies I used:
Stamp Sets: Morning Soft, Elegant Cheer
Cardstock & Ink: Lavender Lace Marker (to color the Pretties Kit, flower), Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Lovely Lilac DP, versamark

The chipboard - WSC 29

Well, it has been awhile since I have taken the challenge. Life has been throwing me some curves, but I am persevering through many difficulties and learning to GROW through them!
Anyways - back to the FUN stuff. Have you ever had anything you moved around so many times that you lost count as to how many times you moved it? Well, I had this piece of chipboard that fell out of the package MONTHS ago and I never actually took the 2 seconds it would take to put it away. Instead, I moved it from table to table or drawer to drawer only to have my 6 yo stamper dd bring it out and to move it again. So today, as I sat in my office, there it was - looking at me and I had a choice.... actually put it away with my chipboard or to use it. So with this challenge before me - I decided to use it.
In addition to that, my friend Holly sent me those little tear drops today. I LOVE fun mail. Nothing better than to get some fun new supplies to play with! I am not necessarily sure they go well with a masculine card, but I forged ahead on a mission to actually use them.
I ended up making this card for my nephews up and coming birthday. Another great fete for me! I am ahead of the game and have a birthday card ready before the actual date! YAHOO!
So here is the recipe - I used the Weathered background and Noble Deer stamp set. I watercolored it using the watercolor wonder crayons and aquapainters. Other materials used are: Close to Cocoa, Basic Black,Very Vanilla, Creamy Caramel cardstock, distresser, sponges, tear drops, mini glue dots, twill and chipboard. Ink colors: Craft Chocolate Chip, Black Staz On, Close to Cocoa. I found some non-SU ribbon in my box and instead of the circle, I decided to use that small swatch of ribbon. Not sure if I like it - but it is complete for now....until I take it apart and redo it. LOL The letters are Making Memory Rub Ons.

Fantasy Box + Directions

Hi Everyone - My good friend Debbie P. inspired me to make a Fantasy Box. After viewing the directions she sent me I found more detailed directions here

Thank you for such WONDERFUL directions. I had started using the Ginger Blossoms paper and made a mistake, so I dug around for some Retired designer paper to make my starter sample.
On this Fantasy Box, I used the Enchante' designer paper. The Pretties Kit, Dew Drops, my Bone folder, Perfect Plum CS, My 5 point petal flower punch, glue dots, mini glue dots, red sticky tape, my half inch and quarter inch circle punches are some of the supplies I used.
