CRINKLE - BLOGGERS CHALLENGE

Hi! Yes, I am late with todays post, but I felt I should be responsible and balance my checkbook and pay bills. I know...I know.... silly of me especially when I could do something more fun like STAMPING! But now that icky job is done and I can PLAY (between loads of laundry - more fun!)

Today is Bloggers Challenge Day and the challenge for this week is to make a Halloween card. I personally don't celebrate Halloween - but LOVE fall, so I hope it is okay that I took a slightly different twist and made a pumpkin patch card with the cute little build-a-bear die from SU.

I used the CRINKLE technique from TECHNIQUE JUNKIES October Newsletter for the background and grabbed a few sets that were collecting dust (Autumn Harvest, Circle of Friends and Carved and Candlelit) to stamp with today...

In addition to that, this week's Belli Challenge was to make a card using Hemp or Raffia, so I used some linen thread to add to the top for that as well.

Here are just a few more details...
Accessories: Stickles, felt, Buile a bear die, Big Shot, red felt, sponge....

Thanks for stopping by! To see more Bloggers Challenge projects, click on the side bar to view their projects. Have a great day!

Belli Challenge #77 and Mojo Sketch

Hello!!! Today is Belli Challenge day and this week's challenge is to use TWINE or RAFFIA in your project. And now that I think about it... I failed to follow the directions!!! ARGH..... LOL

So let's PRETEND... see where they grey ribbon is??? Let's pretend the Twine and Raffia is there, okay? Otherwise - "my twine and raffia" will be what the basket is made of in the stamped image? How does that work for you??? LOL Ok I know it is a stretch...I will see what I can do to change that picture before the day is out... maybe... kids have me running in different directions these days...

The Belli Sponsor this week is Sherrod Studios and one randomly chosen will will receive this stamp set, Birthday Ella

Isn't it adorable??? Now here is my project...

I used the Mojo Sketch from this past Monday.

Now, you also know if you have been following my blog that Wednesday is my Weigh In day! I can not tell you how good I feel and how excited I am every week to weigh in now. I have been sticking to my program 100% and the inches and pounds are falling off! It feels so good. This week, I even had another exciting moment!!!

On Monday, I reached a mini milestone that I didn't even know would happen so soon! ...Two weeks ago, I tried on a pair of jeans (I haven't been able to wear these jeans in over 2 years) I wasn't able to even CLOSE - (the zipper/button section) was like a WIDE V around my big large fat roll in my tummy. Well, I was in my closet this morning and just happened to look at those jeans and thought I would see how much closer the WIDE V would come to closing and how many weeks it would take to get to that point. I was thinking maybe 2 more weeks- because there was NO CLOSING THEM two weeks ago, the distance was almost as big as the Grand Canyon!!! (ok...maybe a slight exaggeration! LOL)

Well.. I slipped them on AND I was able to button them up!!! WAHOOOoooo...I didn't even have to suck in my gutt!!!! WAHOOOOooooooo.... I even wore them comfortably all day! They are tight around the waist, but baggier in the thigh area - but not gross you can see everything tight. Ya know!?

I will post my official weigh in a bit later this morning (writing this up Tuesday.) I know I have at least a 2 lb loss this week because I snuck in an early weight loss. LOL
Good morning! I weighed myself and I am down 5 more pounds!!! YIPPEE!!!!
That makes a total of 20.5 pounds... Can't wait until next week!

I hope you have a great day! Thank you for stopping by!

Christmas Card and Encouragement

This weekend, I had Stamp Camp and this was one of the projects we made. I just LOVE Creative Cuts and More because it was SUCH a blessing to NOT have to cut all of my cardstock
(I had to cut the insert) This card is the Square Filigree Window Card this is in the Bazzill Bling High Heels Red - it just shimmers and sparkles! Gorgeous! The snowflakes were punched using Martha Stewarts Snowflake punch on Glass Slipper Bazzill Bling cardstock.

The stamps are from Stampin up! and I used Stampin Pastels and Dazzling Diamonds on the card.

Now - for some encouragement for you...

Do you have any worries or concerns? There is no need to fear or worry. We have a GOD who created the Heavens and the Earth with just a mere breath! He certainly has every POWER to care for your needs and concerns!

Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of GOD which surpasses all understanding will GUARD your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Remember the enemy wants to discourage you! Fear debilitates our faith and creates MORE worry. We then become timid in our wisdom! We have a spirit of power, love AND a sound mind through Jesus Christ!!!

Praying for you today!

Because of Jesus' Love,

OCTOBER TREASURE HUNT - BURNISHED BACKGROUNDS

Hello! Welcome to the October Technique Junkies Blog Hop!

Wasn't Lisa'a project wonderful? Looking at everyone's projects always makes me want to create some more! (If you didn't arrive here from the Technique Junkie blog, you don't want to miss what our whole DT has in store for you! The Treasure Hunt starts at http://techniquejunkies.blogspot.com/)

In the process of going from Blog to Blog you will want to collect small treasures! At the end of the treasure hunt, put the collection together to see what it says and follow Pat’s directions to have an opportunity to win a FABULOUS treasure chest filled with prizes! You have until Friday morning to join in on the fun!

This project gives you a PEEK to the Technique "Burnished Backgrounds." The technique instructions are available in the Technique Junkies October Newsletter! If you are not a subscriber, I encourage you to become one! Each newsletter is better and better with step by step directions (with pictures!) on how to use these WONDERFUL techniques!

Here are the details for my project:

Stamp Set: Season's Greetings by Firecracker Designs By Pamela

I used a black Craft pad and clear embossing powder on the BURNISHED BACKGROUNDS but it came out more grey than black - so on the text, I used Black Embossing Powder. Next time, I would just use the black embossing powder, but sometimes I have trouble with it smearing.

Cardstock and Ink: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red

Accessories: Bone Folder, Sponge Dauber, Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Punches

The treasure you will find here is the letter "W". For your next CLUE to the TREASURE HUNT go to Jane's Blog to collect another treasure! Have fun hunting for your treasure!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

ENCOURAGEMENT - THIS IS THE TRUTH & BLOGGERS CHALLENGE

Hello! Todays Bloggers Challenge was to create a card with NO LAYERS! So here it is friends...my first card I think in about 5 years with NO LAYERS. :)
Stamps are retired from Stampin' Up, I colored it with Copics and dry embossed the frame. I am not wild about the way I colored the bush, but it is finished.

This video is so encouraging - I enjoyed it several months ago when our church showed it.
Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
Be Blessed,

SEPIA - SO FAR AWAY

Hello! Happy Thursday! Don't forget to sign up for my blog candy at the top of my blog!
I just recieved my order from Firecracker Designs By Pamela. I love getting new stamps and had a hard time taking care of my other responsibilities and not playing first! :) Great service, prompt answers to questions and fast shipping...not to mention a great quality of stamps. I am thankful they are vendors of Technique Junkies!

This card features the stamp set So Far Away by Firecracker Designs By Pamela. I couldn't resist using the SEPIA Technique from the October/ November Technique Junkies Newsletter.
I think I may have mentioned that I have been making some life style changes - working on creating new healthier habits, avoiding junk food, exercising... I am REALLY focused on losing weight now and I feel so great! I have tons of energy. The past few years, I have been focusing on my problems and leaning on the LORD. I praise GOD that I am finally able to have a peaceful season (most days) and take care of myself. Wednesdays is my weigh in days and this week I lost 3.5 pounds for a total of being down 15.5 pounds! Yahoo! I will offer more BLOG CANDY for every 15 pound loss. I have 101 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight. I am focused and determined to do it. I have NOT had any bread, candy junk food, unhealthy carbohydrate in over three weeks - THAT is how focused I am! I will NOT eat anything unhealthy because I want to continue to feel great! You can tune in next week to see how much I lost! My first "big" goal will be achieved with a loss of 4.5 more pounds! So once I get that gone - I will have some Candy to giveaway!

Now on to my project...

CRAZY HAIR NIGHT & WINDOW SCENE

Tonight, we had AWANA and our theme was crazy hair night. I think it is one of my most favorite days! The kids and I had fun making our hair crazy and looking goofy.

Here I am.. we found a toy spider in Noah's room and he dared me to put it on top of my head for the evening.

Noah wanted a target on his head....

Grace wanted her hair pink and green.

Since the big kids made their hair crazy, Sarah wanted to participate too.
She ended up being the only one in her class to have Crazy Hair, but she didn't care! :)

Now for my card! The card base is a diecut available at Creative Cuts and More. I used the A6 Arch Window Card. The stamp set is available at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and is called Light of the World.

I hope you have a great day! I am sleepy so going to head off shortly. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments!

I have piles of stamps I am going through as I clean out and found this one that I have barely used and just couldn't resist any more! However, as I looked at it...I was stumped, so I went to Splitcoaststampers and found THIS card by the talented "moonfairyglass".
As you look at the two cards, you will see the differences, because once I got started I couldn't stop froo-froo-ing it up! :)

Here are the details:

Paper: Bashful Blue, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Dew Drops, Punches, Twill Ribbon, Paper Piercing, Stickles, Dimensionals

The past few weeks, I have been setting some new goals and working very seriously towards losing weight. So far I have lost 12 pounds! I am at the point I am determined to get to my goal this time!

Today I am praying Psalm 91 over my family and for you...

Psalm 91

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowlera]">
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

I have to do a few things here but I will be posting some BLOG CANDY a bit later today! Thank you for stopping by. Your comments really make my day!

Many blessings-
