SNAP DRAGONS!

Hello Friends! Welcome to my blog. I had these posts ready, but not scheduled correctly. I ended up going to the Hospital Monday night for severe stomach cramping. While there we discovered my appendix was inflamed and preparing to erupt. They admitted me and I have surgery early Tuesday morning. I am so blessed by wonderful friends. Due to my husband's work situation, we didn't have health insurance until last week! I am giving GOD all of the praise for the hedge of protection, He placed over our family during that transition!

While I am in pain, GOD has blessed me with such wonderful friends. The timing for surgery happened at a good time. So I can't complain there! :) GOD is SOOOOO Good!!!

Anyways, I am confident that you are wanting to know more about this project! :) This is a die cut from Creative Cuts and More, but I do not recall what Terry is calling it. It is the perfect size for a gift card!!!

For the background on this project I used  Woven Plaid stamped in White Craft Ink, Open Plaid stamped in Mambo Melon. I used Snap Dragon Diamond and Snap Dragon Greeting from DRS Designs

Here are a few more details...
Accessories: Viva Pearl Pen, White Gel Pen, Copic Markers, Paper snips, Dimensionals, Basic Grey Brads, Pink Gingham ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I participated in the CAS132 - Clean and Simple Splitcoast Challenge - HOT, HOT, HOT -  for this card...

I just love this adorable Frisky Florence! I used a Black Marker and colored the portion of It's Your Birthday on the the Hot Diggity Dog Birthday greeting. For the card base, I used the A7 Scallop Card from Creative Cuts and More and ran it through my Big Shot with the Sizzix Flowers and Flourish folder. The Spellbinders I used were the Labels 18 and the Tags Trio. I added a small strip of pink grosgrain and used the Viva Pearl Pen Translucent as an accent. I also used felt flowers and silver brads and gave it a bit of dimension by using Glue Dots to adhere it all together!

If you were here yesterday, you know we went to Six Flags Great America. We had such a GREAT DAY! Perfect weather. My older two children decided they were all about the roller coasters and I hung out with my youngest gremlin. She wanted NOTHING to do with the roller coasters. Our first ride, she chose the carousel. She refused to go on an animal that went up and down and insisted on sitting on the bench. As soon as she got cozy, she decided she was brave enough to let go... Here she is!!! She cracks me up!!

Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy the hop and have a great day!!!

POPPED UP!

IF YOU ARE HERE FOR THE MFP BLOG HOP GO HERE

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my Blog! I hope you are having a GREAT August!  Today, I am sharing a Birthday card using the WONDERFUL DRS Designs Stamps!

I used the Open plaid Background and the Large Original Plaid background. These stamps are PERFECT to create a UNIQUE project with the colors YOU need for your stamping needs! I used the Popcorn Box and colored it up with my Copics! The Popped Up Birthday Greeting actually ends with 'Have a Happy Day!' but I did not ink that portion up and stamped only the top portion of the sentiment, saving the latter part for the center.

The Popcorn Box was popped up using Glue Dots. I added the glaze to the letters and to the popcorn with the Viva Perle Pen in the Magic White Transparent color. The black dots were added using the Black Viva Pearl Pen.

Thank you for POPPING in! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Accessories: Scallop Punch from EK Success, Dew Drops, Paper Piercing, Dimensionals, Rick Rack, Watercolor Crayons, Gesso, Watercolor Paint brush, Mini Glue Dots

Did you all have a nice weekend? We had a wonderful weekend! It was actually the first in a VERY long tim we did not have ANY plans on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, it was my dear 10 year old daughter's birthday and went to some dear friends' 50th Wedding Anniversary. We told her while we were there (jokingly) that the party was going to be her celebration and that we weren't going to have a separate cake....that the cake there was going to be her Birthday cake. :) I did not ask, but our DEAR friends, did some speaking at the party and right before they served the cake they graciously called her up to the front and everyone at the party sang her Happy birthday! She was beaming. I wish I had my camera then! :)

This week, has A LOT happening here - so be sure to come back every day!!! :) Tomorrow, we will kick off the Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop, so be sure to come back!

PS - We did get my BIRTHDAY GIRL a small Birthday cake. I didn't want a huge cake here all week for me to look at and drool over!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!!!

SOMETHING TO CROW ABOUT

Happy Saturday Everyone! We woke up early here this morning and odd occurrence for a weekend! I like to sleep in on Saturdays, but the sun shine must have gotten every one up! :) This is our first Saturday that we do not have any plans! Seems weird.

On todays card, I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter technique called watercolor gesso. I have so many gorgeous projects with this with MORE color, so I feel like the colors I used were not bold enough (mustard, saffron and olive) thus the Gesso covered up much of the watercolor... So my suggestion would be to use bolder colors.

This coming week marks the monthly Blog Hop with Mark's Finest Papers! Be sure to come back to see all of the wonderful creations from the Design Team!

Here are a few more details:
Stamps: Planted With Love from Mark's Finest Papers
Cardstock: Olive, Mustard and Watercolor Paper
Accessories: Watercolor Crayons, Gesso, Aqua Painter, Twine, Buttons, Mini Glue Dots, Circle Punches

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

DRS DESIGNS - BASKETBALL

Hello Everyone!!! Welcome to my blog! Today, I am sharing  my first card as an official DRS Designs Design Team member! I am so excited to be part of the team! Here is my first card....

For my background I stamped : Woven Plaid stamped in Calypso Coral, Open Plaid stamped in Cajun Craze. I used the basketball from the Four Corner Sports and stamped it in Cajun Craze repeatedly, inking it one time to create the "shadowed" affect. The Happy Birthday in the Small font worked perfectly for this sketch! On the final basketball, I stamped it in Black and colored it with Copic Marker E08. I cut it out with scissors and popped it up with a few Pop Dots. I finished the top of the card off with some Hemp and added some buttons along the side.

I used my favorite tool, the Big Shot and an embossing folder to add a bit more texture to the card.

I used the Clean and Simple Sketch 151 which is pictured below for my lay out.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!!
