SCRAPPY SPOTS - BELLI CHALLENGE #70

Hello! Are you all enjoying your summer? Ours seems so busy these days. On Tuesdays, I host a class in my home for a group of moms for the Institute For the Excellence in Writing. We are doing a co-op this school year for a writing class for our children and we are learning what they will be learning next year, so we can better train them. It is a lot of hard work! There is even homework!
Add to that play dates, running errands, housework, park dates with friends, visitin family, and every day is packed with activity!
Todays card celebrates SWEET 'n SASSY STAMPS Christmas in July Celebration - check out their FABULOUS sale! You will even have a chance to get this adorable image!
The technique on this card comes from TECHNIQUE JUNKIES and is called Scrappy Spots. It was SO fun to create and I love how it turned out!
Here are the details for the project:
Stamps: Digi Image by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
Cardstock: Real Red, Mellow Moss, More Mustard, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Circle Punch, brayer,Metal Tag, Red Grosgrain, Black Brads, Spica, Stickles
This week's Belli Challenge is to use metal tags on your cards or projects. You don't have metal tags? No problem! Make a faux metal tag, use metal hardware, use a metal edge tag, or even a metal charm. You can make a faux metal tag in several different ways. Paint a chipboard tag with metal paint, emboss some cardstock with metal embossing powder, or you could even use metal cardstock (silver, gold, copper, etc...) shaped like a tag.

We would love for you to join us in the BELLI CHALLENGES...
Have a blessed day! Thanks for stopping by!

NEW! COPICS COLOUR CHALLENGE AND SEVERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

HELLO! Last night, I was not feeling my best, so today my goal will be to get a project ready for you! I am still under the weather, and I am planning on resting A LOT today. If my children cooperate, I am even going to take a nap.
I am so excited to announce that starting this week I am part of a NEW Design Team that coincides with the Sweet 'n Sassy Copics Junkies group and club. While they are NOT the same thing, I thought it would be a good fit.
The NEW COPIC CHALLENGES actually start tomorrow, but there was SO much excitement over it, we decided to open it up! You can POP in the blog HERE to see this week's colors. All future challenges will be held on Wednesdays, but since there was a SNEAK PEEK into the challenges this weekend, I thought I would post here today.

Here are the details of this project and then I have MORE announcements!

I made this card for my husband for Valentine's Day. Yes, it has flowers on it, but you know what? He will look at it, say it is nice and set it aside only to not look at it again, so I made it special for ME! LOL The banner I drew and colored in...

It is also using the MOJO MONDAY SKETCH CHALLENGE and the TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE on SCS!

Stamp Set: Cuddles & Hugs

Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Zac's Place DP (?)

Ink: Black Adirondack, Copics YR16, YR07, B29, B24

Accessories: 5/8 Chocolate Stitched Ribbon, Water Dew Drops, Primas, Mini Glue Dots, Nestibilities

Now other news and another announcement... We are sad to say that Lorie Ames and Sarah Anderson have needed to step down as Belli Challenge participants. I want to thank them publically for joining us and participating in the Belli Challenges. We appreciate them sharing their talents with us!!!

I would love to introduce you to TWO new Belli Challenge participants.

Anne Harada - (itsapassion on SCS)
Joanne Travis (sleepyinseattle on SCS)

We look forward to seeing what they are going to share with us each week!

Remember the friend whose children I watched this weekend? Please keep their family in your prayers. She was rushed to the hospital this morning for emergency surgery AND her Mother-in-law passed away today too. She will be in the hospital all week. If you would like to send them a card, you can contact me at adickinson@wi.rr.com and I will give you my mailing address and pass the cards on to them.

Today is Created By Courtney's Challenges and with everything that is going on, I have needed to step back from that responsibility to focus on other things. The problem is there is ALWAYS good things to do, but I need to be sure to keep my priorities in focus and I can't do it ALL! *gasp* Did I just say that!? LOL

For your viewing please check out what Jeanette made today! WOW!

Anyways, don't forget to see my side bar and check out their fabulous projects and challenges. I will be back a bit later in the day with something to share with you! Have a blessed day!

COURTNEY'S TUESDAY CHALLENGE #23

Hello! Have you ever made a card you weren't happy with? Well, I do LOTS of times and the one I made for this card was just OFF! So I took it apart and "FIXED" it. I liked both of the peices as individuals, but the way I colored the focal point and then add these STRONG colors...well, it clashed.
Add to that, the sad news a friend of mine was killed in a car crash yesterday, was quite shocking and I wasn't up to fixing it last night. I was thinking about the Brevity of life and how we just never know when it is going to be our time. Please keep her family in your prayers. The family members remaining are Dave (husband), Paul (college son), Michael (high school). I am praying that the testimony of God's Love in her life will draw them closer to God - may each of them hide under the shelter of the Most High and find rest, comfort and peace.
Give your family members extra hugs today!!! I gave my teen daughter one and she just gave me an odd look. Oh well. When she is "old" like me (not that I am old mind you, but to her I am), she will value those things much more, right? lol
Today's Challenge is a Color Challenge as you can see listed below. Add to that, the Technique Lovers Challende from Splitcoast... Designing with Paper Pleats (the chocolate/white panel on the left) and that is my card...
Here are the details on this card...
Stamp Set: A True Friend by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip DP, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Pink Passion, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Top Note Die, Prima Flowers, 5/16th neutral brads, Bold Bright Brads, Riding Hood Red Ribbon, Scor-pal, sponge
I am now off to see everyone's FABULOUS creations... Take a few minutes and spread some love around to them. They all LOVE to hear your comments and I do too!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a fabulous day!

TLS196 - POP UP GIFT CARD

Hello Friends-

It is now the afternoon and I am feeling a wee bit better than before. I can occassionally breathe through one nostril. LOL My 17 yo daughter said I looked like death this morning, so you can only imagine how PURTY I look. LOL

Anyways, I was going stir crazy sitting still, so came into my stamp room. This card, due to my congested head and moving SLOWLY - only took about 4 1/2 hours. Nearly 3 times longer than a "normal" day for me. Considering it doesn't even have any coloring on it! LOL

Today is the Technique Lovers Challenges #196 and it is to try a Pop Up Gift Card! There is a tutorial with a video HERE. Although it is very simple!

I used my Nestibilities Labels One dies- I just bought the Wizard and I am absolutely LOVING it! It took me 3-4 days to like it. The first 2 days, I was regretting purchasing it, but the more I am using it the more I like it.

I used K&Company Mira Specialty Paper Pad that I purchased from SNS. Then threw in some Brilliant Blue and Sage Shadow for my accent paper. I could not resist using the Christmas Scripture set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for this Gift Card Holder. I do not have a gift card at this time, but I will be buying one for my neice and nephew as Christmas comes closer - so I will use this for one of my neices.

I also used a little BLING stickers from SNS too!

Stamp Set: Christmas Scriptures

Cardstock and Ink: K&Company Mira Pad, Brilliant Blue, Sage Shadow, Whisper White

Accessories: Nestibilities, Bling stickers, sponge, Kraft knife, White Gel Pen

Here are a few more things I am thankful for!

1. We got our first snow today - not only did it look very pretty, but it gave me an hour of quiet while my children went outside to play in it! WOOHOO! LOL

2. The many online friends I have made - thank you for being a part of my life!

3. I am thankful for the SNS Design Team - not only is each person very talented, but they inspire me in their giving and prayerful ways! I am blessed to be a part of their group! If you do not know them, I would encourage you to check out their blogs and get to know them through their posts!

4. My local friendships - I am blessed with knowing so many friends where I live and in areas I lived before. They love me for who I am and if I am acting like a doody head, they let me know! There is true love in itself - when the person you call friend, understands your past, believes in your future and loves me today...just the way I am.

Thank you for being a part of my life. I am blessed by you.

Have a blessed day!

Everythings Coming Up Roses!

I am preparing for BACK TO SCHOOL this week. I can not believe the summer is only one week away from being over!

My teen ager daughter, who has been gone the past 2 months comes home from her trip next weekend, so this week will be preparing for that, as well as preparing for my Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday! I will use this box as one of my door prizes and throw in a stamp and an ink spot!

Todays Splitcoast Technique Lovers Challenge is to make an ACETATE BOX! You can view the instructions there as well.

I used the new BELLA ROSE cardstock, along with some window sheets (acetate). I had some Kiwi Ribbon laying around from the dollar basket at the local scrapbook store. The PRIMA flowers are from the Stone Rose collection.
I threw a golden FIRE Circle Rhinestone Brad is from Stampin' Up! I used a Glue Dot to hold the flowers in place.

BELLI CHALLENGE #29 -SCALLOPS!

What is the Belli Challenge you ask?

Each week, I try to give us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms! With a constant flow of new things coming out, I tend to forget about the other things I have and they quickly become clutter!

Come join us in the Belli Challenge and be sure to post your link to this website! This Weeks Belli Challenge is ANYTHING with SCALLOPS!! You can make Embellish or design MANY different things with any SCALLOP in your project.

If you do not have a scallop punch, use a corner rounder to make a scalloped edge, scallop scissors, a scalloped stamp set, DRAW a doodle of scallops around an image, use ANY scallop punch... ANY other ideas?

Make a completed project using anything SCALLOP RELATED item and share the link here in the comments linking to my Blog and CBC29. When you post to Splitcoaststampers or to your Blog, be sure and put CBC29 as the KEYWORD and mention of the challenge - with a link!

I will do a random drawing for all participants and we will feature that persons art work on my Blog AND they can pick a week to be a Guest Designer for the Belli Challenge!
I decided to have TWO Guest Designers on different weeks - Liz Miller and Karen Foltz. You can view their creations by clicking on their names. They both do beautiful work!!!

SNEAK PEAK into MY personal Stamp Set!!!!!

Have you ever had a moment when you were SOOOO EXCITED you could not stand it? My man comes home nearly every day for lunch. Well the mail man beat him to the door and came with a package. Nooo it was not my Stampin' Up! Catalog, this one was a PERSONAL package! LOL And for me MUCH MORE exciting. The package included my NEW STAMP SET! You know the one? The one I have DESIGNED!!! Well, the sample set came in and OHHHH MYYY WORD! I was THRILLED.

Let's just say, my husband was LUCKY I had already made him lunch! ROFL Yes...I know I am HORRIBLE wife, especially when STAMPS take precedence over my man. LOL He understood though. The past few weeks as I have been talking to him about this, he didn't say too much and the excitement hadn't hit him yet. Yesterday when the stamps came I even saw him get excited. Now let me tell you...my man, does NOT get excited over much! LOL Even last night, when we were laying in bed talking he was excited! Yahoo. I see a glimmer of hope (Thank you, Lord!) that even my man can get excited!
The sad news was I had to work from 1-3. Then cook dinner for my family. I struck a deal with them though...I said IF I COOK, You all do the dishes so I can stamp!!!! LOL They all had mercy on me and allowed me to be excused to play with my stamp set. I figured that was a good trade off since I would have had my man run to Wendy's for dinner instead of cooking. SO they did have a nice home made, cooked dinner instead of fast food. LOL

Here are the details:
Stamp Set: Child of God (Sweet 'n Sassy - artwork by ME!)
Cardstock: Real Red, Tempting Turqouise, Wild Wasabi, East Coast Prep, Creamy caramel, Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Paper Piercing Tool, Mat Pack, Dimensionals, Bonefolder
Technique - I used the Technique Lovers Challenge over at SCS and it was TLC 180
Thank you for stopping by! I will posting MORE sneak peaks into Sweet 'n Sassy's EXCLUSIVE images coming out on September 1st. Of course, there will be MANY more of cards with this stamp set too!
Have a fabulous day!

Do- Overs - Summer By The Sea

Do you ever make a card or a project that you are not happy with? Well this project that I made earlier - did not look "RIGHT" to me - so I took it apart and changed it to the 2 cards below -

For details on this card- Stamp Sets: Sweet Shapes, Summer by the Sea - the words was a stamp I had made for me.
Cardstock and Ink: Daisy D's Gypsy Harvest,Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Black Staz On, Shimmery White - I would not use this again for watercolor but was playing around today.
Accessories: Dew Drops, Mini Glue Dots, 1/4inch circle punch, Coluzzle, Paper piercing Tool, Prima flowers, Dimensionals

For this card - I added the Scriptures from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps called The Word.

For this project - I added more Ruby Red to the water colored image and stamped Kind Thoughts from Stampin' Up! using Vanilla Craft ink. The chipboard I painted with Making Memories Paint and mixed it with the Glimmer mists -

Embossed Watercolor- Summer By The Sea

Todays Technique Lovers Challenge is Embossed Watercolor - which is Embossed Resist with a Watercolored image. You pick which watercolor technique you want to use! I am unhappy with how the Shimmery White cardstock takes to water color. So I won't be using that again for this technique!

I embossed the circle stamp from Sweet Shapes using clear EP and Craft Barely Banana ink.

The Summer by the Sea image was embossed using Clear EP and Chocolate Chip Craft Ink.

Around the oval, I used the 1/4 inch circle punch and I watercolored the image using Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

The paper - Ohhhh I love this floral paper! Once I put the card together, I am not sure it "WORKS" with this stamp. It is by Daisy D's Gypsy Harvest. But I do not think they make it anymore.

Anyways, enough rambling! Here is what I used to make this:

Stamp Sets: Sweet Shapes, Summer by the Sea - the words was a stamp I had made for me.

Cardstock and Ink: Daisy D's Gypsy Harvest,Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Black Staz On, Shimmery White - I would not use this again for watercolor but was playing around today.

Accessories: Dew Drops, Mini Glue Dots, 1/4inch circle punch, Coluzzle, Paper piercing Tool, Prima flowers, Dimensionals

Thank you for looking and commenting! Have a great day!
