SNS ROUND UP! A BELLI CHALLENGE AND A COPIC COLOUR CHALLENGE

Good Day! Life seems to be on the upswing again with a new flurry of busyness for me. My three younger children have all decided to need MORE play dates, so that has required more arranging on my part and direction of play, etc. Not to mention more noise in my home with more children here! 6 children under the age of 9 can make a lot of noise! LOL I have to say though, it brings great joy to my heart to hear their laughter.

On a stamping note, today has a whole flurry of activity for me here! Not only is it Belli Challenge Day and Colour Copic Day, but it is also ROUND UP Day for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Instead of creating three cards, I decided to try and make things a tad but simpler by combining the Belli Challenge and my Round Up card.

This week's Belli Challenge is to use DRY EMBOSSING on your project. It can be any type of Dry Embossing you wish - from using a Cuddle bug folder, using a light table and a stencil and the empressor... You get to choose!

I just love this Dream Silhouettes stamp set. I also LOVE bright colors and couldn't resist making this look like a sunset type scene...

I used Technique Junkies technique from the April issue called Chalk Lines. It is so easy and FUN!

Here are a few more details:
Stamp Set: Dream Silhouettes and I'd Pick You (words),All in a Row by SU (retired)
Cardstock: Tempting Turq., Whisper White, Basic Black, Pink Passion
Accessories: Stampin' Pastels, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals, Butterfly punch by MS, Cuddlebug Folder, SU frames, Big Shot, Button Brads, Library Clips

COPICS COLOUR CHALLENGE
These are your colors for the week!

For this project, I used my Love Blooms stamp set. I just recieved the attachment for my Air Brushing kit for my Copics and my sweet, sweet husband got it all set up for me with an Air Tank instead of me having to purchase an air compressor. I had fun playing with it - I "air brushed" the circle and my ribbon, I still have LOTS of practice and perfecting to do with the air brushing!

Here are some more details...
Stamp Set: Love Blooms available at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, words are from Autumn Blessings

For my card I stamped several of the Rose trio from the set with black Adirondack ink. I then colored it in with my Copic Markers. The frame around the flowers and text is a rub on.

SNS ROUND UP - MASKED FRAME

Last week, Splitcoast Stampers had this color challenge and I fell in love with the color combo. I immediately thought of the Technique Junkies newsletter and had to do the technique Masked Frames. If you love to learn techniques and you do not get the Technique Junkies newsletter, I would HIGHLY encourage you to ask for a subscription for Christmas! ;)
It has been rainy and damp and cold here in Wisconsin, so I often dream of a cozy fireplace even though I do not have one! So I settle for an image of one by using my Winter At Home stamp set. :) I colored this with my Copics and went over with a bit of yellow to give it a warm glow.
I used the stipple brush to add a touch of color around the edges and then used the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp set, Snowflakes to add a little pizzazz around the frame. Throw in some bling on each snowflake and you have this card! :)
Now, once you are done looking through my blog, take some time to go to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog to see the other Design Team Members FABULOUS projects for the Round Up this week. AND come back for the BLOG HOP after Christmas! There are more details on the side bar of my blog.
Don't forget about the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sale too! Oh one more thing...Monday is DT Challenge Day on the Blog too! Check it out and play along for your chance to win! Have a great week!

Sweet 'n Sassy Round Up

First of all...for all of you parents who have taken a teenager driving for the first time...I feel your pain. I made it only 5 blocks and had to end it. My husband will have to take my dear teenager driving. I fear I would scare her to death with my screaming. LOL All serious-ness...I was curled up with my knees to my chest screaming MOVE OVER!!!!! There was City Bus coming towards us and she was mere inches away from the parked cars that lined the street. OY. It wasn't even the bus I was worried about but the parked car that was perilously close to my new van.

I think my heart is coming back to the inside of my chest. Probably my poor daughters too. I think she was as stressed as I was, if not more. LOL

Her daddy is now in charge of driving. He is MUCH more calmer than I am. I can now say... I TRIED.

Anyways, today is ROUND UP DAY on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog! Be sure and check out everyones FABULOUS creations using current Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

There is nothing better than the Word of God to encourage a friend! I made this Scripture Binder with my Bind it All and a 12 x 12 piece of Designer Paper from Urban Cosmos.

Stamp Sets: Thanksgiving Scripture, Jesus Cares,Encouragement, Cardstock: Old Olive, Rose Red, More Mustard -Urban Cosmos DP
Ink: Black Staz On
Accessories: Dew Drops, Primas, Watercolor Crayons,Water color brush, Heat Tool,Heat & Stick powder, Dazzling Diamonds, Glue Dots,Brads, Bind-It-All

These directions and idea were given to me by Wendy Fassenbender - the artwork and design are my own...

Mini Pocket Book

12x12 Designer Paper
Sticky Strip
Adhesive
Bone Folder

Directions:
1. Score your 12x12 paper at 2”, 6”, and 10” one way, and 3”, 6” and 9” the other way.
2. Add Sticky Strip to the 2” edges without removing the backing. This will be between the pockets.
3. Fold the 2” edges to the inside.
4. Fold UP the fold at the center between your 2” folds.
5. Cut along center line to the last of the 3” score lines.
6. Accordion fold the paper on the side that has not been folded yet. Where the 2” flaps have been folded in should be the inside fold on the top and bottom of the paper.
7. Spread the paper apart along the cut line. Fold over at the cut line to make long strand of accordion folded paper.
8. Adhere bottom and side of paper on the section that folded over to make the long strip.
9. Use Bind-It-All to bind your book.
10. Make the tags for inside your book.
11. This book also holds gift cards or money if desired.

I will take pictures of each step tomorrow and include those here. I have a class this evening and can not do it at this time.

Thank you for looking! If you have any questions, just ask! Have a great day!

Sweet 'n Sassy Design Team Round Up!

STATIONARY BOX TUTORIAL
given to me by Wendy Fassenbender

Box:
Cardstock: 8 ¾” x 12”
Score at 1”, 5 ½”, 6 ½”, and 11” on long side
Score at 1”, 7” and 8” on short edge

Fold on score lines. Holding the cardstock with the single long score line at the bottom. Cut “flaps” to score line.
On top, cut flaps to 2nd score line. Cut off small flaps at the 1st score line.
Pick one side to be the back of the box. Cut off the large flap at the 2nd score line on the front of the box.
Cut off flaps at the bottom of the front side and top of the back side.
Fold to create box, similar to crayon box.
Clip the corners of the flap that will go inside to make it close more easily.
Open box and apply adhesive to the bottom inside flaps, press to adhere to long flap from back of box. Apply adhesive and press front flap over back flap.
Apply adhesive to side flap, making sure the flap from the front of the box goes over the flap from the back of the box.
Use 1 3/8” circle punch to partially punch front of box to make it easier to open.
Decorate!

This month I am showcasing BIRTHDAY FUN! This gift box comes with THREE cards, although you could fit 5 cards in the box if you do not use too many layers and extra embellishments. But why would you want to eliminate all of the fun stuff? These boxes make great gifts for friends or loved ones.

The first card uses the adorable mailbox with a gift. I know personally I love fun mail! I used the Prismacolor pencils to color it in and drew small x's as an extra border on the project. To give the mailbox a little more dimension, I cut out the outside portion of the box and popped it up with some Dimensionals. I also added a little touch of country by using these green buttons with pink floss. The Designer Paper is from DCWV Nana's Kids pack. The words are from Sweet 'n Sassy's adorable Frogetful Sam stamp set.

The second card features the balloons that I also used on the Stationary Box. I colored these in with the Prismacolor pencils. I added a little Stickles on two of the balloons and popped another one up to give it a little more dimension.

Here are the details:
Stamp Sets: Birthday Fun, Frogetful Sam
Cardstock and Ink: SU Tempting Turqouise, Whisper White, Green Galore, Pixie Pink DP by DCWV Nana's Kids
