A FEW SNEAK PEEKS...

Hello my friends!!! WELCOME!!! This week has been so busy already. Yesterday, we spent the first half of the day at Enrichment classes Sign Up for our Home School group and I signed my children up for all of their fall Enrichment classes. They are very excited about this. However, this is a different group than we have participated in the past 2 years, so they will miss the friendships they have made from there. I then came home and worked on finishing 5 tutorials for an upcoming project. By the time I was done with that, my brain was MUSH! lol

Today, I will be heading out to visit my grandmother and then I must come home and get some stamping done! I have been stamping, nearly every day but yesterday, however, it is all for projects and upcoming publications!

Without further adieu.. I have TWO sneak peeks to share with you! Both of these cards are using images that I drew for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! There will actually be THREE different stamp sets that I personally drew released tomorrow! I hope you will stop back to check them out tomorrow!

Now about these Sneak Peeks... If you have been following my blog for any amount of time, you may recognize these cards. :) I made them last year when these images were released as Digital Images. ODBDSLC27 TEXTURE!

Hello Everyone - HAPPY SATURDAY! Thank you for stopping by! We had my daughter's SURPRISE PARTY last night and she had soooo much fun. During dinner AND the craft, she asked THREE times when the birthday girl was coming. LOL So I guess my telling her the party was for someone else was effective. ;) The girls had a lot of fun and played with die cuts I made using my Cricut. They each made 3 cards and had a blast giggling and being creative.

Today is the Shining Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs! Our challenge this week is to Texture it!! Add texture whether it be through embossing, your different embellishments (feathers, textured ribbon…) or distressing (roughing up the edges not just inking them)

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for thprize must be submitted by Thursday, September 2 on the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. We will even choose a few Shining Light Awards for those who participate. Check out the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog for even more details!

For my creation, I used the Spellbinders dry embossing folder AND I distressed the edges. To get the look that I did - I stamped the image in Not Quite Navy, created a mask for it then sponged an apricot color in a small half circle for the sun. I then sponged orange and pink above it and a caribbean blue for the sky and went with the Not Quite Navy color at the very top. I put a light tan color on the ground and then stamped the excess ink off the sponge dauber and added a small amount of shading along the side and base of the light house.

Here are a few more details:
Stamp Set: Our Daily Bread Designs Keep My Lamp Burning
Ink and Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Apricot, Olive, Pink,  Caribbean Blue, Tan, White
Accessories: Distressing Tool, Buttons, Gold thread, Green Ribbon, Sponge Daubers, Spellbinders, Tissue, Glimmer Mists, Paint Brush

It is a good thing I do things like this every now and then! LOL I made the above banner for the party WITH her help! I even hung it up, so we could see what it would look like on the Birthday Girl's wall. heehee If you recall...her birthday was early August, so she has NO INKLING it is for her. I love it!!! Both girls keep asking if they can go to the party. So I told them that when I see the MOM, I will ask her if they can stay IF they help me clean! LOL

WEDNESDAY WEIGH IN AND GLIMMER MIST WATERCOLORS

Hello! Are you soaking up the last few days of summer? This week is our first official week of school, so in between subjects I send my children outside to run around and burn off some energy and enjoy the sunshine! In Wisconsin, we have had so much rain, so the mosquitoes are quite heavy. Not to mention, we live on a wooded lot in the city, so they tend to be thick. YUCK.

There is nothing like sitting outside on my porch in the cool, quiet of the morning enjoying a cup of coffee listening to the birds sing though! I love that quiet time at the start of the day!

The card I am sharing for you today was SO much fun to create. I used the Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge -Pacific, Razzleberry, Olives - Such BOLD, RICH colors - it as hard finding a balance but I always find BLACK helps! Well...maybe not always, but in my MIND'S EYE it does, right? LOL

Todays card uses the beautiful I BRAKE FOR STAMPS Birds and Butterflies  stamp with the technique Glimmer Mist Watercolors from the Technique Junkie Newsletter

Did you know? YOU can CLICK HERE to save 10% at I BRAKE FOR STAMPS by using this code: SAVE10CHRIS

Flutterby Wednesdaybutterfly, fairy or angel

A few more details... I Stamped the image in black on white cardstock, then colored the image with my Copics. I then set up my small spray station (just a cut open box!) so I didn't make a mess (ok that is a laugh, if you saw the MESS in my office right now - you would say... TOO LATE! lol) with the over spray of the Glimmer Mists. I then proceeded to follow the directions from the Technique Junkies Newsletter

Stamp Sets: I BRAKE FOR STAMPS Birds and Butterflies
Cardstock: Neenah White, Olive, Razzleberry, Black, pacific Point

Accessories: Technique Junkies Newsletter, Glimmer Mists, Stardust Stickles, Dimensionals, organdy ribbon, Scallop punch, Dew Drops, Big Shot, Swiss Dots CB folder, Paper Piercing Tool,

(The butterfly IS part of the stamp. I stamped it, colored it and cut it out... adding Stickles and dimensionals to make it POP!)

MASKED AND MARKERED FLOWERS AND SYMPATHY

HELLO! Happy Monday. We had such a relaxing Sunday. Both my husband and I woke up and were feeling under the weather, so we slept and slept. I  tried to go into my stamp room but just could not muster enough energy, I was so fatigued, I came back and ended up resting the entire day.

Does this look familiar? I am using a remaining portion of card stock from THIS card. I had a dear friend lose her father to cancer this week, so I created this card for her...

Since this is a remaining strip of card stock, the technique I used is called MASKED AND MARKERED from the Technique Junkies Newsletter. The floral image is the gorgeous set called FALL FLOWERS from Firecracker Designs By Pamela.

Here are a few more details:
Stamps: Fall Flowers from Firecracker Designs By Pamela, retired French Script by SU, the sentiment is from SU
Cardstock: Peach, Rose, Black, Olive

This week, we will be starting school...although I am not feeling ready. I bet my kids feel the same way! lol Thank you for stopping by! Hope you have a FANTASTIC day!!!

THOUGHT OF YOU TODAY

Hello Everyone- HAPPY SUNDAY!!! It is late Saturday evening as I type this - so bear with me! :) We had our monthly GAME NIGHT - super fun! We meet once a month with 3 other families for dinner and games. One family couldn't make it this month. It always seems a little different without one family. We really enjoy ourselves...lots of laughter and fun. The children love it too.

Todays project uses the SWEET 'n SASSY STAMPS digi image called Fall Arrangement. I used the SWEET STOP SKETCH  as my inspiration. It is a challenge with a twist where we were to incorporate BACK TO SCHOOL - well my card will be used for my college bound daughter to encourage her as she studies. So does that count? :)
