DRS DESIGNS - BASKETBALL

Hello Everyone!!! Welcome to my blog! Today, I am sharing  my first card as an official DRS Designs Design Team member! I am so excited to be part of the team! Here is my first card....

For my background I stamped : Woven Plaid stamped in Calypso Coral, Open Plaid stamped in Cajun Craze. I used the basketball from the Four Corner Sports and stamped it in Cajun Craze repeatedly, inking it one time to create the "shadowed" affect. The Happy Birthday in the Small font worked perfectly for this sketch! On the final basketball, I stamped it in Black and colored it with Copic Marker E08. I cut it out with scissors and popped it up with a few Pop Dots. I finished the top of the card off with some Hemp and added some buttons along the side.

I used my favorite tool, the Big Shot and an embossing folder to add a bit more texture to the card.

I used the Clean and Simple Sketch 151 which is pictured below for my lay out.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!!

HOT DIGGITY DOG!

Hello and Welcome to my little corner of the world today! It is hot here in Wisconsin, but my good friend from Texas says I have nothing to whine about....and I am guessing I do not!

Today, I played along with the Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers!

I loved this clean and simple design of Teri's! I actually had the pleasure of meeting Teri last year at the Chicago CHA too at the SCS table!!!

The things I changed from this design -

are the stamps, the colors, I added an extra layer, some paper piercing and the Dew Drops!

Stamps: Frisky Florence and Hot Diggity Dog from DRS Designs
Paper: Tangerine, Crumb cake, Espresso
Ink: Memento and Copics
Accessories: Dew Drops, Grosgrain, Paper Piercing tool, Mat pack, Mono Glue Dots

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

LET IT GROW!!!

Hello! I just came in from outside. Here is SE Wisconsin, we got 5 inches of snow. Two of my children or should I say SON, generously shoveled 2 of our neighbors drive ways and ours. I thought I would give him a break, so I went out and shoveled the heavy, wet snow the snow plows pushed into the end of the drive way. I have now become reacquainted with my mid section again. What a good reminder to stay on the treadmill and start weight training !!! LOL

Yesterday, I took 45 minutes to stamp for FUN! Some times with having created my Stamping Passion into a business, I forget that it is important to play. I absolutely LOVE Mo's Digital Pencil Images from Maurie Manning, and I have not played with them in awhile, so I thought what better way to PLAY than with her images and challenge!

This week's Challenge was "PLAY TIME" . This CUTE  image is available only through Help For Katie - Katie Emmerson Renz married to Kevin with 3 beautiful boys the twins Nate & Will aged 5 and Hunter aged 10 had some news just before Christmas that has rocked their world as they know it. Katie has been diagnosed with stage 4 Stomach Cancer and is currently undergoing her only option which is Chemotherapy.

You can find out more information about HELP FOR KATIE HERE -http://www.jakheath.com/2011/01/help-for-katie.html

I also used the Splitcoast Stampers Clean and Simple Challenge to use an Inspired image by Cindybestampin. You can see more details HERE. And I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter, Sanded Coordinations Technique

LAZY, HAZY DAYS OF SUMMER

Hello! Have you ever been in a season where you know life is going to change in a few weeks? I am there right now. Preparing for our fall schedule. It has been such a busy summer with having to work to help make ends meet and our school season starting next week too. We have had a lot of fun this summer too. With the hot, humid weather and my work schedule, I did not get to the beach as often as I intended but I enjoyed some good books and lots of quiet time mingled in. I hope you enjoy EACH MOMENT of your remaining summer too!!!

My card today uses QKR STAMPEDE images - Cute and Quirky! As I made this card, I threw in a few challenges as well... they are...

Stampin' Sisters in Christ: Challenge: create a card of apology or one reaching out to someone and encouraging them to put the past behind them and move forward. Based on this beautiful Scripture Philippians 3:13-14 "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  (my card signifies the hope of forgiveness!)

Paper Take Weekly - WHITE AND BRIGHT
Penny's Paper Craft - ANYTHING GOES
MelJen's Designs Challenges - CLEAN AND SIMPLE
Pile It On - A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY, A LITTLE BIT ROCK & ROLL

Here are a few more details on my project:
Stamps: QKR Stampede - Break Time and Love Faith Hope
Cardstock: Blue, White, Black
Accessories: Martha Stewart Scor-pad, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, Mat Pack, Striped Ribbon from SU
TECHNIQUE: Spot Lighting

At the end of the week, we will be celebrating BACK TO SCHOOL with our
School DAZE  Days BLOG HOP! I hope you will come back and join us!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
