BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #196 FABRIC HERRINGBONE

Hello!   This weeks challenge theme is Pattern Paper! BE CREATIVE with this weeks theme with some of these ideas...

You can alter something with PP - Try Iris Folding or the Herringbone Technique or

Try Tea Bag Folding

Earlier this week I made an Iris Fold project HERE. There is a tutorial linked up there as well.

I decided to try a new twist on the Herringbone technique from the Technique Junkie Newsletter and use the NEW SU Springtime Vintage fabric mixed with the Springtime Vintage DP.

I combined a few other challenges into this card. Christian Paper Crafts had a sketch challenge and their Bible Verse Thursday Challenge was based on  Ecclesiastes 3:11 states, "He makes all things beautiful in His time." The Stampin' Sisters In Christ have challenged to use the Scripture...Scripture: 2 Cor.5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." My new item on this card is the stamp set, the fabric, the paper and the gems!

LAZY, HAZY DAYS OF SUMMER

Hello! Have you ever been in a season where you know life is going to change in a few weeks? I am there right now. Preparing for our fall schedule. It has been such a busy summer with having to work to help make ends meet and our school season starting next week too. We have had a lot of fun this summer too. With the hot, humid weather and my work schedule, I did not get to the beach as often as I intended but I enjoyed some good books and lots of quiet time mingled in. I hope you enjoy EACH MOMENT of your remaining summer too!!!

My card today uses QKR STAMPEDE images - Cute and Quirky! As I made this card, I threw in a few challenges as well... they are...

Stampin' Sisters in Christ: Challenge: create a card of apology or one reaching out to someone and encouraging them to put the past behind them and move forward. Based on this beautiful Scripture Philippians 3:13-14 "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  (my card signifies the hope of forgiveness!)

Paper Take Weekly - WHITE AND BRIGHT
Penny's Paper Craft - ANYTHING GOES
MelJen's Designs Challenges - CLEAN AND SIMPLE
Pile It On - A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY, A LITTLE BIT ROCK & ROLL

Here are a few more details on my project:
Stamps: QKR Stampede - Break Time and Love Faith Hope
Cardstock: Blue, White, Black
Accessories: Martha Stewart Scor-pad, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, Mat Pack, Striped Ribbon from SU
TECHNIQUE: Spot Lighting

At the end of the week, we will be celebrating BACK TO SCHOOL with our
School DAZE  Days BLOG HOP! I hope you will come back and join us!

A PARIS NIGHT and I BRAKE FOR STAMPS ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello! For those of you are my friends on Facebook...I am going to preface this note with...this is NOT the card I was talking about last night!!! LOL That card, I will share later this week...probably on Friday. :) Today is going to be a heavy WORK day for me. I took Sunday and yesterday as my day "off" so now I have my goals set and am ready to get busy!

Before I tell you about my card, I want to tell you about something VERY exciting! I Brake For Stamps is proud to announce that they are the new distributors for the POSH line. They even have a forum and Club that is wonderful too! They will be occasionally offering prizes and many challenges as well! The forum has been pretty quiet for awhile, but it is growing and will have even more than it already has soon!

Now onto the details of my project...

I used the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #48 as my inspiration based on the Scripture: Psalm 127:1a "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it."

Use an image in your card/project of something that is "built" using a set of plans ... a house, church, school, automobiles, even a bird house...anything that would be built according to a set of plans.

Techniques: Sanded Core'dinations, Background Whimsy Dye Method Technique Junkie Newsletter

BIRDS AND BUTTERFLIES BACKGROUND WHIMSY

Hello Friends,
Happy Tuesday! I had some time to "play" yesterday and created this card using a few challenges! I even broke outside of my comfort level and used orange and yellow!! I found these cute little butterfly stickers from The Paper Studio that I have had laying around the past few weeks and decided to use those to help embellish this card...

I used the Sweet Stop Sketch SSS64 for my layout/ design.

I used the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #47 based on Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." The challenge was to Make a card that symbolizes what brings you rest or peace. For example, it could be flowers, an ocean, music, mountains, sitting with a friend, or just reading a book.

I chose the I BRAKE FOR STAMPS Birds and Butterflies plate... I love nature, and the beauty of GOD's creation...I also love creating cards using techniques and this card uses the Technique Junkie Newsletter technique called Background Whimsy, Dye Ink Method. I love using the Technique Junkie Newsletter as it gives such great detail with pictures!!!

A LITTLE (smudge)...DOODLE HERE

Hello! Do you ever get ink on your finger or a tool only to discover it on your cardstock that you already had prepared to make a card?
*Smile* Can you imagine? I started creating a Clean and Simple card for the Clean and Simple challenge on Splitcoast Stampers but then smudged the white and added some doo-dads to cover it up, then thought... ohhhh I should add some doodles to help cover up another smudge and before you know it... my card is no longer CAS. OOPS... That is the great thing about doodling!!! :)

I created todays card using Mark's Finest Papers...
I colored this image with my Copics and then used Smooch paints to shade a bit...

A few more challenges I participated in...

Stamps: Butterflies, Dianthus and Flourishes
Paper: Retired SU, Black, Blue, Neenah White
Ink: Copics, Memento Black, Versamark,
Accessories: Gold EP, Heat Tool, Black Spica, celery grosgrain, Dew Drops, Mini Glue Dots, Technique Junkies Newsletter, Dimensionals
Techniques: Color Outside the Lines

Another busy day in our household!

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus who went before us, has entered on our behalf..." Hebrews 6:19-20a (NIV)

I hope you have a blessed day!!! Thank you for stopping by!

ODBD Renewing Your Strength...

Hello! I am on Retreat right now in the beautiful valley in Lansing, Iowa at village Creek Bible Camp. If you have a chance and need a retreat they have a FABULOUS staff, wonderful grounds and a perfect time to get away with the LORD... This is actually a Scrapbooking Retreat, but I didnt have any pictures to work on, so I am stamping and RELAXING. This is my time as a mom, wife, home schooler, person... time for me to renew my strength in the LORD.

This card comes at you with a challenge from Our Daily Bread Designs - This week's on assignment challenge SNTODBD5 is to create a card using something NEW. I have incorporated my NEW Origins Basic Grey Paper, Ancestral Jeweled Brads by TPC Studio AND this beautifully drawn Eagle set... I bought over a year ago and have JUST inked it up for the first time!

Another challenge I created this for is the Stampin' Sisters in Christ - The challenge is to create a card that expresses joy or joyfulness and our scripture inspiration is Isaiah 12:6 "Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you." I have listened to praise music all day, praising GOD for His mercy and goodness to me through out my life. What a blessing this is for me to be here enjoying my time in a quiet space, while having the freedom to worship how I choose (stamping and listening to praise music!)

BLESSINGS IN TEAL....

Hello Everyone-

Today is BELLI CHALLENGE DAY but due to my time restraints and health issues, I did not get a card done in time... be sure to head on over there and see the Belli Team's FABULOUS work!

Here is a project I made using the Firecracker Designs By Pamela stamp set called Easter Blessings...

I created this card today for several challenges ... first off the Featured Stamper Challenge and the Clean & Simple Challenge (square card!) Angela has such a beautiful gallery! What a treat to look through her gorgeous projects!

The card I CASED is here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p;ppuser=84051

Things I changed were:
1. I tried to stay in the same color scheme, but changed the arrangement of them.
2. Nestibilities and images - I did not have the same ones so substituted ones that would be close.
3. Embossing folder and gem placement
4. I also added a bit of white gel pen to the frame and used Technique Junkies Wisped Frames Technique for the background on the focal image.

In addition to that I used the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge based on this
SCRIPTURE

Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

CHALLENGE

You have free reign of what you want to do this week. But here's the deal: I want you to actively do this as an act of worship to our God. Before starting, pray. Thank God for your gift. While working, feel free to pray more, or perhaps sing out to Him. Put your focus on Him and remember that it is He who gave you your gift (however good or bad you think you are at this) and remember that it makes Him happy to see you at work. Do this challenge, as if you were doing it for Christ himself!

While stamping, I often have praise music and pray for those in need, so making this card was a delight to make while worshiping my Lord and King!

Stamps: Easter Blessings by FCD

Paper: Teal, Aquamarine Stardream Metallics, Cocoa, White

Ink: Brown Memento, Copics

Accessories: Ribbon, Nestibilities, Punches, Dimensionals, Cuddlebug folder, White Gel Pen, gems, Stipple Brush, Stickles

Techniques: Wisped Frames from Technique Junkies Newsletter

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek! Have a blessed day!

MOJO WOOD - SISTERS IN BRAYERED BRILLIANCE!

Happy Wednesday! For those of you following my weight loss, I am changing my weigh in day to Friday. One thing I have realized in a bad habit of weighing myself every day... is that I jumped back on program on a Friday after the Christmas holiday. Fridays tend to be the days I have a decrease in my weight, rather than Wednesdays. So I decided to switch it to that day! SO be on the look out for that on Friday. I can tell you though that so far I am DOWN this week. Woohoo!

Ok - now about my card - I LOVED the MOJO Sketch this week, and made another card you can see HERE or I will be posting it on my Blog next Wednesday too.

The Background on this card is a Technique Junkies technique from the February/ March 2010 newsletter called Brayered Brilliance and Pierced Patterns. Super easy and FUN too!

Another challenge - Mo's Digital Pencil Too Challenge #17 was to create a project with WOOD or WOULD or FAUX WOOD - this bench has WOOD in it. You can see another project I created for this challenge HERE.

Another challenge was the Stampers Sisters in Christ - to use TWO of the same type of item to TWO kinds of each item to make your ONE creation. An example would be as follows: 2 different colors of cardstock, 2 different pieces of patterned paper, 2 pieces of ribbon, 2 brads, 2 buttons, and so on. My project uses TWO TECHNIQUES! HERE is the direct link to this challenge.

Here are a few more details:
Stamp Sets: Mo's Digital Pencil, Sisters, Kind Thoughts SU (BG)
Cardstock: Glossy, Pomegranite, Pirhuoette Pink, Regal Rose, White
Accessories: Nestibilities, Brads, Double stitched Rose Ribbon, Pink Candy Brad, Paper Piercing Tool, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for taking a peak and leaving me a comment! I appreciate your kindness! have a fabulous day!
