UNIQUE AND RESILIENT

Hello Everyone - I have been having so much fun playing with the NEW FABULOUS Mixed Media Blank Canvas images. This project uses the Blank Canvas and Resilient Woman AND The Authentic Words Set

I stamped the Unique several times and colored it with fabrico markers. I then stamped it again with Staz On ink on the SHEETMetal Tags and colored that word. Once the image was colored, I ran the metal tag and the Core'dinations Card stock through my Big Shot with the CuttleBug Brocade Embossing Folder. I tied some silver cord in a bow through the hole and adhered it to the card stock. I wrapped some cord around the bottom of the card stock and stamped the Blank Canvas and Resilient Woman and cut her out. Using Sticky Thumb Dimensionals, I adhered Resilient Woman to the card stock.

I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter and the technique called Sanded Core'dinations.

If you have not hopped through the NEW RELEASE HOP, you will NOT want to miss the AMAZING creations the talented Designers have shared with you! You can see them all HERE.

SCACD BLOG HOP - WE ARE "DIE"ing TO SHOW WHAT'S NEW!

Hello Everyone - Have you ever had something you were SO excited about for weeks but had to keep it quiet? Here at SCACD we've been "die"ing to mix things up!  So, this month we have the launch of two awesome new Collections.

Before we get into this a bit more...If you started here, you may want to head back to the FOLLOW YOUR HEART BLOG so you can see all of the gorgeous artwork from the beginning. If you arrived here from  Alex's blog, you are in the right place!
First is a fantastic new line of dies.  Susana has collaborated on a collection of dies with a timeless, classic feel.  Delicate and beautiful, the diecuts from these high quality wafer thin metal dies will be featuring on your projects for years to come!

Second is a wonderful new direction for SCACD.  Susana is following her heart with a new line of Mixed Media stamps.  For those of you who are new to the concept, Mixed Media is a style that embraces creativity and experimentation. Let SCACD take you on a new creative adventure with the Blank Canvas Collection.  From the beginner to the mixed media enthusiast, these stamps will have the creative juices well and truly flowing!

Each set in the collection comprises looks, perfect for mixing it up with different techniques.  Use the elements set to enhance the blank canvas silhouettes, or use them on their own for gorgeous effects.
In addition there is a fabulous set of word outlines, ready to be customized however you like!  Color them in, doodle, zentangle, paper piece - go wherever your creativity takes you.
Here are TWO creations using the new Dies by SCACD - called the Butterfly Vase and Garden Corners.

How to create the border: Cut 4 corners,  Cut 2 of the die cuts in half right down the middle. Run all of them through a Xyron or use a Glue pen and place adhesive on the back. adhere with the center of the hearts and leaf over lapping (as pictured below) Take the other two remaining die cuts and cut out the hearts and adhere those on the connected portion of the cut dies.

Here are the details on my projects...

FEELING A BIT METALLIC

Hello Everyone! It is Saturday and that means it is SWEET STOP SKETCH DAY! I love having a sketch to Inspire me and this week, our sketch has a TWIST!
I created a 4 1/4" x 5" sheet of card stock using the Dream Weaver Paste and the Basket Weave Stencil. (I placed the stencil on an angle and used the handy dandy Dreamweaver Stencils Spreader) and allowed it to dry for a half an hour. I then used the Ranger Perfect Medium Clear and tapped on the raised embossed edges and then stippled the Aged Patina - Pewter on that. Using Black Staz On Ink, I stamped the Susana Loves Stamps, Come Hither Eyes image over the Pasted/ pearled area and cut out the skirt portion to paper piece her outfit.

To clean my stamp, I used the FABULOUS ScraPerfect Best Cleaner Ever. Have you heard of this product?  I personally am AMAZED...it cleaned stamps that I had built up Staz On ink on it easily!

I stamped the Come Hither Eyes image a second time using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored her skin with Copic Markers E00 and E11 Using the Onyx Inspiration Paints for her hair, Garnet Inpisrations Paint for her lips and heart bow, Blush Inspiration Paints for her cheeks and a Tim Holtz Detailer Brush to paint

On the shirt/ top and wings of the Come Hither Eyes image I used the very corner of the Ranger Perfect Medium Clear pad and traced around the edges. I then stippled the Aged Patina - Pewter onto the top and used the Perfect Pearls Metallic, Perfect Pearl on the wings to give her wings a touch of shimmer!

Here is our sketch this week! :)

I included a few different angles so you can see the SHIMMER - unless you see this IN REAL LIFE you can only imagine it!

To create the background, I used the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pumice Stone on the vanilla card stock. I then tapped the Perfect Pearls Metallic, Perfect Pearl  over the entire background. Stamping the Unity Painted Punchinella image in Versamark (refills are here too!). I cleaned the stamp off and repeated that step to cover the entire background.

Now, remember this week's Challenge is to use a RUFFLE, so I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter and the DOUBLE RUFFLE technique from the April/ May 2012 Issue.

Once adhering all of the pieces together, the shimmer was FANTASTIC but I felt like the card needed something else, so I grabbed one of my FAVORITE Viva Decor Products, the Viva Pearl Pen Black and added some drops to finish this off.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! When you are done looking here, please take some time to be inspired by the Sugar Babies creations: Cathy McCauleyMonika DavisJanice MeltonShannon White and Shelby Goolsby

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!

3-D CHALLENGE GOODIE PURSE

Hello Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! This week Classy Cards 'n Such is challenging you to make a 3-D Project! For my project I created a Goodie Purse using the Technique Junkie Newsletter 3-D and Fun Folds Cd! This little purse is so fun to make and decorate. It would be a perfect inexpensive gift to fill with lip gloss, nail polish, candy or even a gift card or cash!

I started the purse by using the Teresa Collins 6x6 Patterned Paper called Spring Fling. Classy Cards 'n Such has a BEAUTIFUL array of Patterned Papers for you to design with! The words I used on my project come from the Just Rite Stamp set called Topsy Turvy Cakes.

To create the cute little flower, I used the  Miniature Rose Die from Cheery Lynn Designs along with the Paper Blossoms Tool Kit to help curl the flower blossoms. To adhere all of the little blossoms together, I used the Sakura Quickie Glue Pen. To finish the flower off, I added the Viva Pearl Pen Ice White on the internal portion of the flower and around the scallop punch layer to decorate the words a bit. To further embellish this cute little purse, I added a bow using the  Red and Green Doodle Twine - Christmas Assortment.

Some additional tools that I used are:
Scallop Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch, Scallop Border Punch, 1/16th hole punch, Martha Stewart Scoring Tool, Large Oval Punch, Basic Grey Magnets

To create this little Goodie Purse I used the Technique Junkie Newsletter from the 3-D and Fun Folds Cd.

Have you purchased your 3-D and Fun Folds Cd yet? This brand new CD has 70 tutorials for gifts, decorations, boxes, cards, and much more! the original Fancy Folds and Motion CD was so popular, we just had to create MORE for you.

All of the tutorials are in step-by-step PDF pictorial format -- and are printable to 8-1/2" x 11" paper. We even have an index with thumbnails on this CD to help you find a project quickly and easily!
