BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #196 FABRIC HERRINGBONE

Hello!   This weeks challenge theme is Pattern Paper! BE CREATIVE with this weeks theme with some of these ideas...

You can alter something with PP - Try Iris Folding or the Herringbone Technique or

Try Tea Bag Folding

Earlier this week I made an Iris Fold project HERE. There is a tutorial linked up there as well.

I decided to try a new twist on the Herringbone technique from the Technique Junkie Newsletter and use the NEW SU Springtime Vintage fabric mixed with the Springtime Vintage DP.

I combined a few other challenges into this card. Christian Paper Crafts had a sketch challenge and their Bible Verse Thursday Challenge was based on  Ecclesiastes 3:11 states, "He makes all things beautiful in His time." The Stampin' Sisters In Christ have challenged to use the Scripture...Scripture: 2 Cor.5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." My new item on this card is the stamp set, the fabric, the paper and the gems!

Here are a few more details...

Stamps: Faith from Our Daily Bread Designs
Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, Vanilla
Ink: Chalk Inks
Accessories: Springtime Vintage Fabric, K&Company rhinestones, Technique Junkie Newsletter, Large oval punch, Gold Cord, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch
Technique: Herringbone

Here is a little Blog Hop for some more inspiration!

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hello! Today is the Christian Paper Crafts Magazine New to You Challenge that I host every Wednesday! This week's Challenge is to create a card using the Crimped Envelope Pocket Card. I used the tutorial HERE from Splitcoast Stampers.

Here are the details for my card:
Stamp Set: Dream Silhouettes, His Eye is On the Sparrow
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum, Envelope
Accessories: Eyelet Scalloped Punch, Crimper, Ribbon, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Sponge
This week, we have been busy with Tae Kwon Do practice. My kids are preparing for their first belt test and they are very excited! Between that and catching up with housework from being gone last week, life has been busy!

Despite all of the busyness, I am so blessed. This week at church, we had a special speaker come in. He is a new Pastor applying for a position in our church. He spoke from Jonah 1...the Lord led me to share this with you today...
Jonah 1
Running Away from God
1-2 One day long ago, God's Word came to Jonah, Amittai's son: "Up on your feet and on your way to the big city of Nineveh! Preach to them. They're in a bad way and I can't ignore it any longer." 3 But Jonah got up and went the other direction to Tarshish, running away from God. He went down to the port of Joppa and found a ship headed for Tarshish. He paid the fare and went on board, joining those going to Tarshish—as far away from God as he could get.
,
After hearing Pastor Sam Jackson speak this week, I was challenged to ask myself and really think about what GOD is calling me in? Where or what have I been neglecting or running in the other direct from? My children have me so distracted right now, that I seem to be tending to the immediate needs and have a hard time thinking past what is beyond that. I am hoping this week to really have some treasured moments to really focus on where God has been calling me and where I may not be going in the directions HE wants me too. If you would like to listen to this message, I encourage you to go to www.graceinracine.com and download it to your computer or any other means of listening devices.
I hope you have a blessed day!

Hello! I hope this finds you enjoying your summer! Yesterday was spent cooking and baking for some friends. One family added a new baby to their family, so we took them a meal. TIME FLIES!

Does anyone have a few hours to spare? Maybe it is just lack of sleep lately, because I can't seem to get my act together to stamp every day like I have in the past. I made this card for two challenges...the Belli Challenge and the CPCMAG NEW TO YOU Challenge that is hosted each Wednesday.

I used a RUB ON from SU and the Alphaboxes from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for this card. I love the versatility of the alphaboxes! You can make them what ever size you want and then just cut them out to make whatever word you choose. These are Digi Stamps to use...

This weeks CPC-Mag New to You Challenge is to use the GRID technique on your card.

I will have a SNEAK PEEK for you Friday and another card for you tomorrow! So stop back when you have time! Have a great day!

Poppin' Pastels Christian Paper Crafts

Hello my friends,

I am so excited about today because my children and I are going to the SURVIVE ALIVE FIRE HOUSE in Milwaukee as a field trip with their girls club and boys club (I am a co-leader for the Boys Club).

This week's NEW TO YOU Challenge on the Christian Paper Craft Magazine forum is to create a project using the POPPIN' PASTELS technique.

Poppin' Pastels uses your Versamark pad and Pastels. Pastels is another name for a high quality chalk... So if you don't have pastels in your craft room and if you have children - go grab their sidewalk chalk or chalk board supplies! Ink your stamp with your Versamark pad. Stamp the image on cardstock. Lightly draw some color from your pastels using a sponge dauber, q-tip, or cotton ball into the pastel of your choice. You will not need to use a lot of pressure on your chalks, this will make them crumble. It will still useable, just not so pretty sitting in the tray and messier too. Once you have the applicator of choice "chalked up", gently press or dab it over your versamarked image.

The versamark will absorb the color and your image will pop out, you may even have some residue of color on your cardstock but the main image will be the image you stamped. Above is my sample to help inspire you for your start. You can also see it in the gallery here . When uploading to the gallery use the keyword NTYW05. When uploading to other online galleries or your blog please use the keyword CPCM-NTYW05. Also, please leave a comment here in this thread with a link to your creation so we can be sure to check it out. There is no time limit for playing so just have fun!

Here is my list of supplies...

Stamp Set: Dream Silhuoettes by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Floral Bg by SU

Cardstock, Ink & Pastel colors: Sage Shadow, Blush Blossom, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, barely Banana, versamark,

Accessories:Blue pearls, Dimensionals, Oval cutter

We are weathering a storm here (again) 'Tis the "season" :) so this is the Scripture I am meditating upon today.

Psalm 37:23-24 (NKJV) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Hello! I know time is limited for so many as I am feeling the crunch with the end of the school year. Next month our oldest child graduates! I can barely believe it. It seems like just yesterday she came as a 4 year old to live with us. The years have really flown by. While the past several years have been difficult, it has been by FAITH in God's plan that has pulled us through!

DRAGGED MADRAS - JESUS IS MY PORTION...

Hello! I have discovered a new forum and I am so excited because they asked me to be a host for one of the weekly challenges. Have you heard of the Christian Paper Crafts Community? They are working on a new forum but it is currently in the NING community. I just love this community. What better place than to have a community of friends who love the LORD and share a passion of paper crafting!? Praise GOD! If you have not heard of this and would like to join, let me know and I will send you an invitation.
Every Tuesday, Christian Paper Crafts will hold a Tuesday Sketch. This is their sketch for this past week, CPCM-ST01 is the code for any forums you will use if you participate!

In addition to doing the sketch challenge, I used the technique Dragged Madras. This is a technique that was shared in the May Technique Junkies newsletter. I am still ecstatic about being a part of their Design Team! This week, my stamping time seems to be minimal due to Spring School activities.

Here are the details on this project:

Stamp Sets: His Eye is On the Sparrow and Dream Silhouettes by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Ink and Cardstock: Barely Banana, Basic Black, Whisper White, Bashful Blue (Certainly Celery Ink too)

Accessories: Big Shot Top Note Die, the frame for the words I drew myself and cut that out by hand, Dew Drops, Sponge Daubers, Mini Glue Dots, Paper Snips

Today is another busy day! I have MOPS this morning and then my 7 year old has a Tae Kwon Do activity, then I have to do some work in my basement for two hours. Can someone come over and give me a few hours of quiet time in my stamp room, please? LOL

I hope you all have a blessed day!
