Hello!! I hope this finds you well rested from a wonderful weekend!

Have you been over to The Brakefast Club? The Brakefast Club is a free forum filled with friendship, Inspiration, Challenges , Fun, Contests, and ideas for I Brake For Stamps! This weeks challenge was to create something with GREEN!

Todays card, I decided to try something and didn't get the colors I wanted, so I did some punting and came up with this creation.

I started out by using Creative Inspiration Paints and the Spring Green paint on my water color card stock. I did not achieve the Bright Green I wanted, so I grabbed my water color crayons and mixed some Glorious Green in and WAH-LAH! I achieve the glorious, shimmery green I wanted!!!

I used both water color crayons and Creative Inspiration Paints: Emerald, Copper, Antique Silver, Charcoal, Spring Green, Citrus, Onyx, Coal, Butter Cup, Raw Sienna

I Brake for Stamps now carries these wonderful paints too!

I also had fun using Paper Temptress Paper SO FUN!!! - Here are the gorgeous papers I used Water color Paper,  Paper, POP Tones - Berrylicious,   Antique Parchment brownMetallics Fairway - Each of these papers has their own unique quality - each embosses beautifully and really help add the extra WOW to create a fabulous card!

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #157 - COLOR CHALLENGE KIWI, BLUE & WHITE

Hello! I am back to my (new) normal routine. We went out of town for a few days and had a FUN time. We went to a water park and I even had a chance to RELAX and read. I packed some stamping things, but did not do a lick of it!

This week for the Bloggers Challenge, we were challenged to use Kiwi, Blue and White.  I made three cards, but I am sharing two today. I got on a roll! I will share the other some time this coming week.

As an avid paper crafter, I am sure YOU NEVER do this... but I have purchased a TON of stamps in the past several years and have rarely used a few of them. Now that I am no longer a SU demo, I find that my SU stamps are collecting dust, as beautiful as they are... so today I decided to pull a few out and use them. I have had this Seashell stamp for maybe 2-3 years? I haven't found much inspiration to use it... so today I LOOKED and found this card and "cased" the general design of it and used the color challenge and created a birthday card for a friend of mine today.

This next card uses To Have and To Hold from SU as well.

Tomorrow, I will share a card using QKR STAMPEDE and some Cosmo Cricket paper that I have had lying around.

Check out the other Blogger Challenge Participants blogs and artwork using these colors by clicking on the Bloggers Challenge icon on the side bar!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekened!!!

Here are the details:

BELLI CHALLENGE - HAPPY SCARECROW!

Hello! Today is BELLI CHALLENGE day! I am so glad that you stopped by!

This weeks challenge is to use water based markers...NO Copics! I really struggled with this card because I have grown attached and used to my Copics! :) Kathy from Peachy Keen Stamps is very generous and is our sponsor for this weeks challenge. Thanks Kathy! Their stamp line has perfect images for coloring. A winner who will receive a Peachy Keen stamp will be chosen by using Random.org and will be posted before the next challenge. The images we used are Natalee (PK-210), Happy Scarecrow (PK-613) and Sleeping Teddy (PK-250). If you haven't been over to Peachy Keen Stamps to check them out you need to!

To play along with us create a card or project using only WATER BASED MARKERS ~ NO COPICS!, We can't wait to see what you come up with. If you post to SCS or PCP or any other online gallery please use keyword CBC72 so we can find it.
This card uses the Happy Scarecrow. I watercolored him with the markers - It was so much fun, but man am I rusty after working with the Copics the past year.
We would love for you to join us in the challenge! Follow the link above to see MORE of our FABULOUS Design Teams work!
Blessings,

BELLI CHALLENGE #51- IT'S ALL ABOUT JOY

It is BELLI CHALLENGE day!!!

What is the Belli Challenge you ask?

Each week, I try to give us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms or homes! With a constant flow of new things coming out, I tend to forget about the other things I have and they quickly become clutter! This weeks, Belli Challenge is to make a project with your INK REFILLS.
Here is what you need to do...
1. Anyone Can Play! Spread the Word! :)
2. Make a completed project with your INK REFILLS - I used them to watercolor but there are several techniques you can use...I was going to try one, but my creative juices were running dry this week. you could use your refills for Polished Stone, watercoloring... and these.... http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/inkspraysmash/
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/newsletters/01/09172008.html
3. Share the link here in the comments linking to my Blog and CBC51. When you post to Splitcoaststampers or Paper Craft Planet or to your Blog, be sure and put CBC51 as the KEYWORD and mention of the challenge - with a link!
4. I will do a drawing and the person whose name I draw will be a BELLI GUEST DESIGNER the third week of February
5. Deadline for entry is Tuesday evening 7 p.m. Central time.
Last week's winner was Shannon Bracken - check her FABULOUS project out HERE. I love lighthouses and blues and her card is so pretty! Be sure to leave her some LOVE! :)

I feel like my MOJO and WOW factor has taken a short break. I am hoping now that some of the stress has passed for now, it will come back...I had big aspirations for this weeks challenge, but I just didn't get around to it, so I used the Ink Refills for thewatercoloring...

Here are the details for this project:

CAMOFLAUGE TECHNIQUE WITH BE STILL

This is Courtney Fowler's first release stamp set! She did such a beautiful job designing it and I have really enjoyed playing with it this week. When I stamped the words on the Watercolor Paper, it did not come out as clear as I would like, so I will have to fix this!
The background paper is NOT Designer Paper but it is actually Handsome Hunter cardstock that I created this Camoflauge look with the Camoflauge Technique from the Technique Junkies Newsletter - www.patstamps.com from the October/ November 2008 Newsletter! I tried this on several different colors of cardstock and they all turned out beautifully! I am loving this technique!
I stamped the image on Watercolor Paper and used my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Aquapainter to water this image. I also used Lovely As a Tree and masked the deer and stamped that behind the deer. The words say, He leadeth me beside still waters...
We have had such a busy 2 weeks, I am looking forward to my normal routine next week! I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Thank you for stopping by!Chrissy D

Glimmer Mists - Snowfriends

Hello! Yesterday was Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge day! I flipped the sketch a bit and used the Technique Junkies newsletter for a starting point. My good friend, Holly Brown had created a technique and submitted it to Technique Junkies and they published it as a technique!

So of course, I HAD to make a card using her technique. :) It is called Glimmer Mists. For more information about it - go to http://www.patstamps.com/ - I am sorry I can not share the technique here as the Technique Junkies newsletter is copyrighted material. If you are not a subscriber, I HIGHLY recommend the newsletter. It is a wonderful publication and they have a Yahoo Group for subscribers filled with MANY VERY talented stampers!

This is sooooo shimmery! But it hard to see. I used a cut out mat using the Top Note Die as a mat when spraying my Glimmer Mist. I also combined this with todays sketch challenge!
Here are the details: Stamp Set: Snowflakes (designed by me!) and Snow Friends available at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
Cardstock: Handsome Hunter, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Tissue paper
Ink: White Staz On, Bashful Blue, Black Staz On, Handsome Hunter
Accessories: Glimmer Mist, Tissue paper, Xyron, Dimensionals, Snowflake Brads, Dew Drops, Lg Oval Punch, Mini glue Dots Thank you for looking and commenting! I appreciate you taking the time!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous day!

SLIDER PHOTO CHRISTMAS CARD WITH TUTORIAL

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! I hope you all have a blessed day!

In the past two weeks, I have recieved at least 3 requests for the directions on how to make this style of card. So I am posting a mini tutorial for you! :)

REMEMBER THIS CARD? To see the original post, go HERE.

The main portion of your card should be measured at 8 1/2" x 9 1/4".

You will score it on the going lengthwise on the long side at 1/2" and 4 1/2"
The sliding insert will be measuered at 4 x 9. I used the half inch circle punch to punch a half circle to make it easier to slide.
Then stamp and embellish however you wish!
Have a fabulous day! Thank you for stopping by!

Christmas Cookie Challenge & a Challenge for You!

Have you stopped over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog to see the NOVEMBER ROUND UP!? This is not my Round Up card for the month. I will post that some time this week - I am finally ahead on things I can post!

Things are peaceful within our home this past week, despite my son preparing for the Lego League competition. He is very excited and has his competition today! My husband found out he does not have to work, so is going to go with him and I will stay with the girls'.

On Paper Planet, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has the Christmas Cookie Challenge. What you do is pick a bunch of ingredients, then each ingredient equals something that has to do with stamping -

Here is what I chose: Brown Sugar, butter, Nutmeg, Eggs and Walnuts

These equalled: Walnuts = Stickles Brown Sugar = baubles or skittles Eggs = Vellum nutmeg = corner punch of any kind Butter = Watercoloring

I purchased this stamp by Rachel Anne Miller, from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps months ago, but have failed to use it. So I decided to grab it and play!

If you want to play in this challenge - anyone can! The link is HERE.

Here is a bit more information about my card!
Stamp Sets: Rachel Anne Miller Teddy Bear, Jesus is Born by SNSS
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Eva Basic Grey DP, Pink Piruoette, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Black Staz On, Bravo Burgundy,
Accessories: Paper Snips (I cut the flourish for the corner punch out of some DP), Stickles, Nestibilities Circle and Scallops, Dew Drops, Sponge, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Aquapainters, White Gel Pen, Snowflake Felt, Mini Glue Dots

I have another little challenge for you. It has nothing to do with stamping just the season of Thanks and giving. I have gotten a bit lazy and selfish lately in the area of giving. I have been tired and busy with my immediate family circumstances and activities - today I felt God tugging on my heart strings to look outside of myself. So I will be taking this challenge myself.

I am sure you all know of some one who has a need - it could be an hour of your time to help clean, a monetary gift, food, time to talk whatever it is. Would you take some time this week to reach out to someone in need? Make it a sacrifice for you though. There will be a cost, but when we look outside of ourselves and minister to others, we are often more blessed by it then they are. If there is no cost to you, (in time, money or whatever) then it isn't a sacrifice, right?

Be a blessing this week to someone who isn't expecting it. More importantly, the blessings should start at home. How often do we take our family members for granted? (See my hand shooting up, like Horseshack in Welcome Back Kotter?) Oh! Oh! Me! Me! (I think I just aged myself. LOL) Anyways, I am challenging myself to be a blessing at home as well as outside of the home to others that I meet.

OK - I am done talking for now. Thanks for reading this far! I am thankful for you.

Have a great day! Enjoy this season of giving thanks...

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #69 - GOD'S GLORY

Greetings Friends -

Today is BLOGGERS CHALLENGE DAY! This weeks challenge is a Color Challenge - Old Olive, Really Rust, Riding Hood Red (white/vanilla or confetti may be used). I threw in a tiny amount of chocolate chip too...I am not very gifted with monochromatic cards. :)

This corn stalk stamp is one of my favorites. Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has one too that is FABULOUS - I REALLY WANT it, but haven't ordered 0 no particular reason why unless you count when I put my orders in my children interupt me a million times and I forget. Does that count? I guess a "MILLION" is a slight over exaggeration. LOL How does 5 times with 4 children speaking to you at once? That can hurt a person's head.

I really do need to learn to focus, don't I? I am the same way when you "talk" to me in person...I go off on little tangents. LOL

Anyways, I used the following things - I absolutely LOVE Thanksgiving because it draws our focus OFF of ME and my "WANTS" onto the real reason of the season - giving Thanks to my creator and Savior! I used my Twinkling H20's on this, so the colored image has a wonderful SHIMMER!

Here are a few more details:
Stamp Sets: God's Grace by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Cornstalk image unknown, Canvas BG
Cardstock and Ink: Basic Black Staz On, Gypsy harvest DP (My favorite!!!!), Confetti Cream, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Really Rust, Creamy Caramel, Gypsy Harvest DP TAGS, Accessories: Twinkling H20's, paper snips, Build a brads, Prima flowers, Glue Dots, Pewter Brads, Paper Piercing Tool, Mat pack, Distressor, 1/2 inch circle punch, 3/4" circle punch, Sponge

I see the picture I took is a little hard to read - so this is what the text says:2 Corinthians 4:15, For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the Thanksgiving of many, redound to the glory of GOD.

Have a blessed day! Be sure to click on the icon to the RIGHT and look at the other Blogger Challenge participants creations. I am always in AWE of their work! If you would like ot participate, be sure to post a link to Lisa's Blog HERE.

Thank you for stopping by! Just in case I haven't told you...Your comments make me smile! :)

Featured Stamper #83 Bella Birthday

I made this card for my friend Joann. Her grand daughters 7th birthday is this Thursday, so she needed a girly card. :)

Today is Featured Stamper day on Splitcoast Stampers - #83. I chose to CASE this card -

When you participate in the Featured Stamper challenge you pick a card from the gallery of the Featured Stamper and you need to change three things - and let them know what the changes are...

I loved the sketch and the card, but I really loved
the way the butterfly wings were popped up on the card too

Here is my list of changes:
Stamp Set, colors, embellishments and I used different DP in the half circle and layer that goes across.

Here are a few more details on my card

Stamp Set: Matilda Muffinbread, Warmest Regards, Rough Texture wheel
Cardstock: Pink Passion, Lav Lace, Basic Black, watercolor paper, DCWV Nana's Kids DP
Accessories: Twinkling H20's, Aquapainter, Circle Cutter, MM Brads

You can not really see the TWINKLE in the paint on this picture can you? Hmmmm... well IRL this baby shimmers! LOL

Have a great night! Thank you for stopping by to take a peek...Guess what? By the end of the week, I may have some SNEAK PEEKS for you on my upcoming stamp sets that will be released October 1! :) WOOHOO.

The Path of Life....

Yesterday, Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge...

Our Care Ministry, which we call the Hands & Feet Team have a theme this year. It is all about GATES. Letting go of the past and Entering into the new...Each one of us, is on our own journey of growth and the Lord is leading us. If you do any word studies in God's Word, the number 8 signifies a new beginning or ending of something...And guess what? Our year is 2008! A year of NEW BEGINNINGS - stepping into the NEW seasons of life!

Now, that brings me to this stamp set. Back in July, I saw this stamp set at Our Daily Bread Designs (Path of Life) and KNEW I had to have it. I am going to make each person in the Hands & Feet Team something with this stamp set, as a remembrance of our year of growth together. I loved the imagery of the open gate - to me that signifies an invitation from the Lord. "Come in and grow with me." Do you hear Him calling?

So that is a short bit of my story of this stamp set...Here is a few more details on my project...

Stamps: Path of Life, Lovely as a Tree

Paper: Brilliant Blue, Handsome Hunter, Watercolor paper, K&C Specialty DP Mira

Ink: Black Staz On, Night of Navy, Handsome Hunter

Accessories: Watercolor Crayons, Aquapainter, Build a Brads, Dew Drops, Primas, Ice Rhinestone Brads, Brilliant Blue Organdy Ribbon, Scallop punch, Paper Piercing tool, Mat Pack, Photo Corner punch

I put a few close ups of the watercolored image and the Build a Brad. I stamped Lovely as a Tree (the small leaf) in Handsome Hunter and used the half inch circle punch. I watercolored Night of Navy for the surrounding area.

Well, (a deep subject - lol) thank you for looking. May your day be filled with many blessings! In case I have not told you lately, I love your comments - good or bad! They help me grow and stretch to more work and improve too!

Spring Birds - Serene Spring

The 3 Little Dreams Design Team had a sketch challenge and I failed to follow directions. :)
The directions I was failoed to follow were to use a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp set or a Bella Stamp set. At the moment of making this card, I wasn't thinking of that, I had just grabbed this card.

I stamped the image on Watercolor paper - but I got a little carried away with squeezing my Aquapainter and over saturated the paper by the butterfly and the bird - so there is a little area with "water spots."

I used Watercolor Crayons and Twinkling H20's to color this too.

I am working on designing a stamp set right now and have a bit of a headache. For this card, I used the Canvas BG and the Bella Toile BG stamps by SU along with the Serene Spring. Cardstock and ink colors are Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Watercolor Paper, Bashful Blue. I paper pierced around the edges then felt it needed a bit something else, so drew FAUX stitching around the borders of the cardstock.

Thank you so much for swinging by and looking at my work! Have a great day!

I used the following supplies to make this card:

Stamp Sets: My Little Chickadee, Autumn Blessings, both from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Ink: Black Staz On, Basic Gray, same as above, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Dew drops, Grey Taffeta, Mini Glue Dots, Sponge, Coluzzle, Cricut, All in a Row SU set for Faux Stitching, Paper Piercing Tool, Scallop Punch, Aquapainter, Cropodile

Thank you for stopping by and looking! Have a great day!
