In Memory to those we haven't met yet...
Since this week's Bloggers Challenge is a BIRTHDAY THEME, I thought this would be a good time to share this...
Many of you may not know, but I had lost a baby in November 2003. This happened a week after my dearest grandpa had passed away and I really struggled at this time after losing someone who was so close to me. At the time, I felt like my pregnancy was a gift from GOD and I had felt like the baby was a boy, so I could name him after my dear Grandfather - Andrew Paul. When I lost this baby, I was confused, angry, hurt and didn't fully understand God's plan. A few months later, I ended up pregnant with our sweet daughter Sarah Elisabeth. I just love her to peices and while I will always remember Andrew, I am so thankful for Sarah.
I share this in memory of Andrew...
This week my dear friend Jennifer shared this with a group of her friends (me included) and I wanted to share it with you with her permission...
From my friend Jennifer-
I would like to share this with you because I love you. I used to not think too much when someone said, "Yeah, we miscarried." My first thought was, "oh, I'm sorry; maybe next time as it's all in God's plan." Not trying to be insensitive, but not really giving much thought to that life and the time that was even more fleeting than our own not to mention the hurt, confusion and anger that is felt in the parents. Now that Tim and I are traveling that road of Grieving after a Miscarriage, I want to apologize to my Father for not stopping to recognize His creation; to my sisters who have lost and are navigating their way to healing; and to my brothers who have lost and are also trying to find healing as well as minister to their wives.http://www.focusonthefamily.com/downloads/heartlink/pdf/permissiontogrieve.pdf
This is found on Focus on the Family's website. It's called Permission to Grieve--Finding Healing and Hope after Miscarriage.I pray that you will find healing and one day be able to say "It is well with my soul." Sidney, we'll see you soon--love, Mom and Dad.
If you are on Facebook - there is a Miscarraige Awareness group.
Please post here as your tribute to those we have loved and lost and will some day get to meet in Heaven.
Because Of Jesus' Love,

Chrissy D

Hi Chris,
Your cards are magnificent!
I wanted you to know that you've been such an inspiration to me. As an artist and a Christian. I'm designing stamps for 3 stores now and I never would have even dreamt about it, but I thought about you and how you design stamps. I thought just maybe I could too. And that's the honest truth. So I wanted to thank you so, so much!!!

Love this card. It is very unique. I lost a child back in the early '60's. She would have been in her late 40's now. At the time, I pushed it back. It wasn't until our son and his wife lost their first child that I finally grieved for my child. It is not something I share with too many people. However, God does work miracles in us that helps us to heal from the lost. Two of our daughters have also lost a child. Thanks for sharing the story.

Blessings to you!

Thank you for sharing Chris. I lost two babies before my first son was born. Though they were fairly early miscarriages, they were hard to overcome at first. Thank you for the reminder of God's perfect plan. I always have and still do look forward to meeting my children in heaven!

Chrissy, first your card is GORGEOUS! WOW -- I'm glad you finally got a chance to try that technique. Also, I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about the loss of your baby, especially during an already painful time. My hubby and I, too, have experienced this kind of loss, and do understand your pain and that of the many, many families who have also experienced this. We take comfort in the knowledge that God cares for all His children, and pray that all will be reunited with their loved ones in Heaven.

Chrissy...your post brought me to tears. We also lost a child to miscarriage...they would have been 25 now. I felt bitter than no one understood that it was a big loss...just like any other loss and we grieved, but received no support other than from my parents. I try to bring awareness of this whenever I can.

On a happier note, your card is beautiful and I love that pyramid technique!

Lovely card and lovely tribute to babies lost. Fortunately, I didn't lose any myself, but lost 2 little grandbabies both girls. My dd & sil lost the 1st in Nov. 2000 and then the 2nd in June 2001 both were girls and both had the same Turner's syndrome. When they found out the 3rd was a girl, they were afraid until the the 2nd trimester arrived & all was well. Ellie was born healthy and hearty in Nov.'02 & then Roman in Feb.'04 both had daughters when they married each other. They will always love and remember the 2 that are in heaven with Jesus, as will I as their grandmother.

What a beautiful card and touching tribute. Since I've never actually given birth to a child I don't know the pain nor loss of losing one but I do know how it feels to have never had a child. I cherish my (step) daughter and little granddaughter though and have always considered them as my very own even though I did not give birth. Thank you for sharing your story and thoughts with this gorgeous card.

simply gorgeous Chris!! I too know the lost of a child through miscarriage. I lost my first in '98 and felt as well that it was a boy. I didn't understand why, but then 7 months later my nephew died (he was 6 yrs old) and I knew God was telling me that the stress would be too overwhelming for me. I lost my 2nd in '01 (we had 1 daughter by then) - right after 9/11. This took a toll on me and I was out of work for a few months, ended up in therapy, and on medication. I now have 3 beautiful and healthy children, but I will never forget my 2 angels in heaven (with my nephew) and will rejoice when we meet again.

Thank you for sharing your story. I had a miscarriage 2 years ago last month. I thought I was finally going to get my little girl. :) Such a hard thing to go through. So many people just dont understand that a baby, no matter how long it's carried, is always a part of your heart. I take comfort in knowing our family will be whole again. My love goes out to all who have suffered a loss.

And thank you for sharing your card. I love the way that technique give such a dramatic look! Fabulous job! Hugs!

Chris, Thanks for sharing your story with us. Please accept my sympathy in the loss of your child. I can only imagine the heartbreak.
Your card on today's post is just beautiful. I know you said it was featured on Technique Junkies newsletter, but I was wondering if it was possible for you to share how you made this card?, or is that a no-no? Thanks in advance.
