ODBDSLC29 - LET IT SPARKLE (SHINE!)

Do you ever look at something and it brings a song to mind? As I started writing up this post the song "This little light of mine... I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine..." Came to my mind! Bear with me, it has been a crazy, busy week filled with a constant flow of people in my home. Tonight, we ended the week with a birthday party for my Grandmother who turned 85 years old today. She is such a tremendous blessing to me and I love her so very much. I have to say I am slightly over stimulated from PEOPLE. We ended the week of craziness with a party with 20+ people. I am ready for silence and solitude! :) Thankfully, I will get that today!

Anyways.... I failed to say HELLO AND HAPPY SATURDAY!

Today is the Shining Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs! Our challenge this week is to make your creations sparkle!

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, September 16th on the Our Daily Bread Designs BlogOne random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. We will even choose a few Shining Light Awards for those who participate. Check out the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog for even more details!

Today, I have TWO creations for you... Only because I LOVE glitter and was on a roll with this technique... I stamped the image from the beautiful stamp set HIS GIFT with Staz On onto acetate and waited a minute or so. Flipped over the acetate and grabbed my Glassy Glaze/ Crystal Effects and carefully put small amounts in small areas. I then sprinkled the colored glitter that I wanted in that one area over the Crystal Effects. I waited a few moments and moved on the next area. I worked from lightest colors to darkest colors on the image. I then set the image aside for a few hours to dry thoroughly...

Here are a few more details on this project:

Gorgeous cards- I have to give this a go! How do you attach glittered acetate to the cardstock then? The glitter goes down, right??? (I am not seeing any brads on your card...... that is what I eould guess). Fantastic- I have a ton of glitter.
