SNEAK PEAK into MY personal Stamp Set!!!!!

Have you ever had a moment when you were SOOOO EXCITED you could not stand it? My man comes home nearly every day for lunch. Well the mail man beat him to the door and came with a package. Nooo it was not my Stampin' Up! Catalog, this one was a PERSONAL package! LOL And for me MUCH MORE exciting. The package included my NEW STAMP SET! You know the one? The one I have DESIGNED!!! Well, the sample set came in and OHHHH MYYY WORD! I was THRILLED.

Let's just say, my husband was LUCKY I had already made him lunch! ROFL Yes...I know I am HORRIBLE wife, especially when STAMPS take precedence over my man. LOL He understood though. The past few weeks as I have been talking to him about this, he didn't say too much and the excitement hadn't hit him yet. Yesterday when the stamps came I even saw him get excited. Now let me tell you...my man, does NOT get excited over much! LOL Even last night, when we were laying in bed talking he was excited! Yahoo. I see a glimmer of hope (Thank you, Lord!) that even my man can get excited!
The sad news was I had to work from 1-3. Then cook dinner for my family. I struck a deal with them though...I said IF I COOK, You all do the dishes so I can stamp!!!! LOL They all had mercy on me and allowed me to be excused to play with my stamp set. I figured that was a good trade off since I would have had my man run to Wendy's for dinner instead of cooking. SO they did have a nice home made, cooked dinner instead of fast food. LOL

Bloggers Challenge #58 - Colorful Owl Occasions

Ohhh, this weeks challenge was to use Rose Red, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive...I am pretty sure I didn't miss any this week! ;) I am NOT "feeling" these colors, but my girlfriend Janeen came over last night and LOVED the card, sooo maybe it isn't as bad as I think!? Not sure....

Anyways, I decided to use Olivia the owl this week from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - I just love her but I can't seem to get her to look as good as others do when using the DP to decorate her. But I am "TRYING" - never give up - that is what I tell my kids.

Anyways, this is what I used on this card -
Stamp Set: Owl Occasions by Sweet 'n Sassy stamps, Rough texture Jumbo Wheel SU, Floral BG
Cardstock and Ink: Rose Red, Old Olive, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Prints Pack,

Sweet 'n Sassy Design Team Round Up!

STATIONARY BOX TUTORIAL
given to me by Wendy Fassenbender

Box:
Cardstock: 8 ¾” x 12”
Score at 1”, 5 ½”, 6 ½”, and 11” on long side
Score at 1”, 7” and 8” on short edge

Fold on score lines. Holding the cardstock with the single long score line at the bottom. Cut “flaps” to score line.
On top, cut flaps to 2nd score line. Cut off small flaps at the 1st score line.
Pick one side to be the back of the box. Cut off the large flap at the 2nd score line on the front of the box.
Cut off flaps at the bottom of the front side and top of the back side.
Fold to create box, similar to crayon box.
Clip the corners of the flap that will go inside to make it close more easily.
Open box and apply adhesive to the bottom inside flaps, press to adhere to long flap from back of box. Apply adhesive and press front flap over back flap.
Apply adhesive to side flap, making sure the flap from the front of the box goes over the flap from the back of the box.
Use 1 3/8” circle punch to partially punch front of box to make it easier to open.
Decorate!

This month I am showcasing BIRTHDAY FUN! This gift box comes with THREE cards, although you could fit 5 cards in the box if you do not use too many layers and extra embellishments. But why would you want to eliminate all of the fun stuff? These boxes make great gifts for friends or loved ones.

The first card uses the adorable mailbox with a gift. I know personally I love fun mail! I used the Prismacolor pencils to color it in and drew small x's as an extra border on the project. To give the mailbox a little more dimension, I cut out the outside portion of the box and popped it up with some Dimensionals. I also added a little touch of country by using these green buttons with pink floss. The Designer Paper is from DCWV Nana's Kids pack. The words are from Sweet 'n Sassy's adorable Frogetful Sam stamp set.

The second card features the balloons that I also used on the Stationary Box. I colored these in with the Prismacolor pencils. I added a little Stickles on two of the balloons and popped another one up to give it a little more dimension.

Here are the details:
Stamp Sets: Birthday Fun, Frogetful Sam
Cardstock and Ink: SU Tempting Turqouise, Whisper White, Green Galore, Pixie Pink DP by DCWV Nana's Kids
Accessories: Prima Flowers, SU Bold Bright Buttons, Rounded Tab Punch, Oval Punch, Pink thread, Mini Glue Dots, Red Sticky Tape, Bone Folder, 1 1/4 inch & 1 3/8 " square punch, pink gingham ribbon, Dimensionals, Paper piercing tool, Scallop punch, Prismacolor Pencils, Pixie Pink Marker

Changes...

Hello Everyone-
I hope ya'll don't mind sharing with you some things that are happening...

With all of the changes that are happening for me and I know there are things changing for everyone, life feels a little stressful. As exciting as all of the changes are, the changes have been a bit over whelming emotionally. My list of changes that are currently happening could go on for half of a page, but I am not wanting the focus to be about me and what is happening in my life.

This morning, I woke up and came down a bit earlier than normal to spend some time alone with God. He is so faithful! He immediately reminded me of a book mark our Hands & Feet Team handed out a few months ago so I grabbed it and what an encouragement it was to me this morning! I thought I would share it with you as well...

Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. (I always insert my name in the Scripture, to make it more personal...)
- God will reveal His will in His timing.
- The answers will not come until they are needed.
- In the process of change, things may look in disarray or even chaos for awhile until the Lord puts the pieces together to establish the new.
- Change can be hard for all involved.
- New people and processes do not diminish the value of what has come before.
- Everything has its season.
- Above all, God is to be glorified.

Isn't it great that no matter what things are changing in our personal lives, GOD always remains the same? He is always there!

Dr Charles Stanley said the following in a devotional...

People sometimes say, "The only constant is change." Fortunately, this isn't true.
There's One who never changes. Jesus Christ always remains the same. What a comfort for believers! But, it's hard to find refuge in someone we don't know well. So let's explore the Lord's actions to learn more about His nature.
Jesus forgave others. He showed mercy, not judgment, to those who recognized their sin. For example, Jesus had compassion on the woman caught in adultery. He stopped her death penalty with a few wise words. Then, instead of pronouncing condemnation, He said her sins were forgiven.
Jesus comforted the hurting. He visited Mary and Martha, who were mourning the loss of their brother Lazarus.
Jesus provided for needs. Mark chapter eight records Jesus spending three days healing all kinds of disabilities. Afterwards, He was concerned the large crowd hadn't eaten. He could have sent all 4,000 away to find their own food. But Jesus provided more than enough to satisfy their hunger.
Jesus interceded for His disciples as recorded in John chapter 17. Just before He was crucified, Jesus asked the Father to protect and sanctify His followers, including you and me.
Jesus strengthened believers and gave them power to do God's work. In Acts 1:8, the Lord sent His disciples out to share the gospel. He assured them, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you."
Jesus still forgives. He still comforts. He still provides He still intercedes. And, He still empowers. What a blessing that we can find refuge in our amazing Lord!
(End of quote from Dr. Charles Stanley)

Thank you for reading this, I know it was LONG. I hope it was an encouragement to you today as well! Have a great day!
