Science Project Day 6

Houston...we have chrysalis...

This morning as we got ready for church we had 3 caterpillars hanging upside down -wiggling a lot. The three children were so excited because they were SURE that the caterpillars were in their cocoons...they weren't.

This afternoon around 4:30 - the three caterpillars were in cocoons. The three were squealing with delight! My 6 yo said, "I ammmm soooooooo happppyyyyyy." I do not remember when something like that made me soooo happppyyyy....I guess I am getting old.

It is now around 9:30 and the other 2 caterpillars are heading to the top to hang upside down. I anticipate by tomorrow they will both be in their chrysalis'.

Looks like my 8 yo son was right. He said that they would be in their cocoons before my birthday.

Science Project Day 5

The caterpillars have eaten most of the food in the container. Today, they seem to be more active than I have seen them all week. Two of them have moved the the top and seem to be wiggling a bit more. Makes me wonder if they are beginning to spin their cocoon? We will find out tomorrow!

Noble Deer - 50th Birthday Card

Today was my Uncles 50th birthday party. So we went to that for a few hours. This is a card I made awhile ago - but needed to finish it. I have a bunch of those half done cards lying around. Does anybody else?

Science Project Day 4

These caterpillars are growing and growing and eating and eating! They have more than doubled their size!

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #56

This is the corrected version. :) Iaccidently didn't READ all of the directions and missed the Mellow Moss.

This weeks challenge was TRULY that...A CHALLENGE. I waited until this morning to see what a few others would post for some further inspiration. LOL Yes, I know...I took the lazy way out. But the colors were MELLOW MOSS, BLUE BAYOU, SAHARA SAND, REALLY RUST, and REGAL ROSE. We could add vanilla or white...

Now I personally like these colors, although they are not ones I use often and definitely not all together.

So after looking at some of the posts that were completed, this is what I came up with...

First of all, I colored the Serene Spring with Prismacolor pencils.

I stamped the FLORAL background in REGAL ROSE, with it stamped off to give it a lighter look. Then I stamped the Tres' Chic in Blue Bayou, but also had that stamped off. I sponged with Really Rust too. I probably wouldn't have normally done that, but was trying to go along with the challenge.

Accessories: Prismacolor Pencils, Dew Drops (found at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps), Scallop punch, Mini Glue Dots, Paper Piercing Tool, Mat pack, corner rounder for scallops around the circle, Dimensionals.
