WEDNESDAY WEIGH IN AND GLIMMER MIST WATERCOLORS

Hello! Are you soaking up the last few days of summer? This week is our first official week of school, so in between subjects I send my children outside to run around and burn off some energy and enjoy the sunshine! In Wisconsin, we have had so much rain, so the mosquitoes are quite heavy. Not to mention, we live on a wooded lot in the city, so they tend to be thick. YUCK.

There is nothing like sitting outside on my porch in the cool, quiet of the morning enjoying a cup of coffee listening to the birds sing though! I love that quiet time at the start of the day!

The card I am sharing for you today was SO much fun to create. I used the Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge -Pacific, Razzleberry, Olives - Such BOLD, RICH colors - it as hard finding a balance but I always find BLACK helps! Well...maybe not always, but in my MIND'S EYE it does, right? LOL

Todays card uses the beautiful I BRAKE FOR STAMPS Birds and Butterflies  stamp with the technique Glimmer Mist Watercolors from the Technique Junkie Newsletter

Did you know? YOU can CLICK HERE to save 10% at I BRAKE FOR STAMPS by using this code: SAVE10CHRIS

Here are a few more challenges I participated in...
The Pink Elephant Ribbon and Sparkle!
Just Scraps - OPEN HOUSE!
Paper Cutz Challenge Anything goes!

Bee Crafty Ribbons or Bows
Flutterby Wednesdaybutterfly, fairy or angel

A few more details... I Stamped the image in black on white cardstock, then colored the image with my Copics. I then set up my small spray station (just a cut open box!) so I didn't make a mess (ok that is a laugh, if you saw the MESS in my office right now - you would say... TOO LATE! lol) with the over spray of the Glimmer Mists. I then proceeded to follow the directions from the Technique Junkies Newsletter

Stamp Sets: I BRAKE FOR STAMPS Birds and Butterflies
Cardstock: Neenah White, Olive, Razzleberry, Black, pacific Point

Accessories: Technique Junkies Newsletter, Glimmer Mists, Stardust Stickles, Dimensionals, organdy ribbon, Scallop punch, Dew Drops, Big Shot, Swiss Dots CB folder, Paper Piercing Tool,

(The butterfly IS part of the stamp. I stamped it, colored it and cut it out... adding Stickles and dimensionals to make it POP!)

Now...for those of you following my weight loss.... Today is WEIGH IN DAY! This week was a bit rough, due to having a few parties to go to. I did lose 1 pound, so that is good... I am satisfied - although I had 3 meals that I allowed myself to go OFF my plan - back on program this week though. :)

If you would like to JOIN ME on my weight loss journey, you do not need to do the same plan as I am... I would like to encourage you! Let me know! I will offer a small, EASY weekly challenge  for you in your weight loss efforts...

You can see last week's challenge HERE

This past week, I was noticing while visiting friends, walking around, preparing meals, etc. how much food I nibbled on while standing. Have you ever done that?

  • Cutting up food, nibbling here and there...
  • walking past food on the counter or food on a desk and just grabbing a quick bite,
  • preparing dinner and nibbling on what you are cooking
  • visiting friends with food on the table in front of you
  • being full at dinner, but your plate still has food on it, so you want to finish it
How many calories do we eat, when we are not even hungry and not paying attention? TOO MANY!

Here is this week's Weight Loss Challenge:  Pay attention to how much food you eat while standing and MAKE A PLAN. Resolve to eat sitting down. Take smaller bites and CHEW and pay attention to what you are sticking in your mouth. ENJOY YOUR FOOD.

My plan is this...

  • Eat sitting down.
  • While preparing foods, have a small plate with a handful of vegetables to nibble on. I personally avoid carrots due to the fact they are higher in the carbohydrates. I lean towards green vegetable or a moderate carbohydrate content broccoli, cauliflower, green peppers, green beans, etc.
  • I chew sugar free gum

OKAY! Now you tell me how you did last week! I would love to hear about it!!!

My weigh in this week:
Week Two - 1 lb lost!
Week One - 5 lbs lost!
October 2009 - February 2010- lost 50 pounds...

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a VERY BLESSED DAY!!!

I too love sitting outdoors in the morning while everyone is still asleep with my cup of coffee, however I have not done that one time this year with all that has been going on here, it has been impossible... never thought I would say that word. LOL... Love your card and keep up the good work on your diet.

This is stunning Chrissy!! I so love your balance of the colors! What a gorgeous scene this is! I am camping right now so we are doing school in a wooded open area. The kids would rather play of course but mornings are school and afternoons are recreation time for us.
Have a great day!
hugs,
Chris

good evening would like to let you all a tip on how you can save some money monthly, Getting a conversion
kit for your vehicle will save you hundreds of dollars on gas by switch to an american made fuel 'Ethonal'.
More americans are upgrading their vehicles to support both fuel types and buying ethonal to fill up your vehicle.
Ethonal is not only an American made fuel, which you'll be support our economy alot more than buying fuel
that we have to import making us more depended on foreign supplies.

Your artwork is as beautiful as always, Chris. So many awesome pieces of eye candy here. I have joined your networking blog. I have recently added my blog to the network as well. Hope you will join me there as well. Hope all is well with you. The summer seems to have just flown by. I spent most of it having Crystalens eye implant surgeries on each eye. Final stage, the laser part, will be done in October. I am seeing better now and glad it is pretty well over. Be well. Hugs, Gayle.

We are having wonderful weather (unusually wonderful) here too, and I only wish I didn't have to be at work so that I could enjoy it more.

Your project today is fantastic, and I wish the photo showed more of the shimmer because I know how hard it is to photograph that wonderful shine that your card has today. Outstanding job, Chrissy!
