O' CHRISTMAS TREE With a TUTORIAL!

Hello and welcome back! I made a card similar to this two years ago and taught a class for this technique. This morning, my mom called and asked if I would PLEASE send her the directions, so I thought I would just write up a tutorial for my blog, then I will not have to do it again! :)

I have the distinct honor of being the featured Artist on Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this month, so check out the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog through out the month as I have several fabulous projects prepared to share! :)

For starters, this card uses the Holiday Greetings. I LOVE the versatility of this set. You can mix and match whatever greeting you want! How FABULOUS is that!?

Stamp Set: Holiday Greetings by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
Cardstock: Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Wassail DP
Ink:Always Artichoke
Accessories: Sponge, Bone folder, Dew Drops, Mini Glue Dots, Moss grosgrain, Styled Silver Hodgepodge, 1 inch circle punch.

Here is a side view. In 2006, my good friend Shelly made a card using this technique and shared the directions with it. I do not know where she got the idea, but it was probably some brilliant person on the internet! :) Thanks Shelly for the inspiration, help and directions from way back when!

What you will need to make a card similar to this...
Solid Color: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
Different Solid Color: 5 1/4 x 4
Designer Paper: Cut squares - 3" , 2-1/2", 2", and 1-1/2"

You will take each cut square using your bone folder and fold in half, unfold and fold in the other direction.

Then, unfold and fold diagonally, from one corner to the other. Then again the unfolded corner, do the same.

Take your cardstock and put in front of you with the square end facing you. As the picture shows you, push in the sides to form a triangle as the blurry picture below shows you!

I apologize for the poor picture quality!
The triangle will be a double triangle (as pictured)

Take the top portion of the triangle and fold inward to the folded seam.

Repeat on the opposite side and your tree branches will look like this.

Open the traingles and stack from smaller to larger on the bottom. Attach to your project and embellish as you wish!

If you have any questions, please ask! :) I hope you have a fabulous day! Thank you for stopping by!

I will have to try this. I'm emailing by daughter about Sandy's kleenex holder she posted this morning and a tutorial I found on Hero Arts blog for a gift card holder. I'll try this technique next. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Chrissy,

I was wondering what you used to get those little beads to stick to the card. I'm always on the look out for the best adhesives for stuff like that. I love your blog by the way.
